He was most likely feeling nervous, not easy speaking in front of hundreds of people. Only when you'll be in front of tons of people holding a mic, you'll understand how you feel.

No need to fire someone for the sake of "you suck man". Train those people, guide those people. We better understand ourselves better! :)
