Also: Jamar's commissary funds has been garnished until all owed debts are paid in full. That includes money owed to the record label, medical expenses, and emotional damages. As for Randy, he was only given probation and community service after he took a plea bargain (he testified against Jamar).
@tristanirby62722 жыл бұрын
Good he deserved what happened to him. His own selfishness done him in. Plus he should’ve known better and done his research on the music industry. That’s when an artist or artists get signed to a label, the head of the label gives him, her or them a cash advance which is a loan and not money for them to keep. That money is to pay for their studio time, set designing, photographers, videographers, touring, marketing, advertising and etc. Once everybody gets paid whatever money is left from the record sales, merchandising and touring then the artist will get the remaining money. But a lot of these be making the mistake when they sign these recording contracts and get that money, they go out on spending spree by houses, cars, clothes, jewelry and partying. Artist wonder why they be in debt and not seeing the money make. I mean it’s not always the record labels fault. It’s the fault of the artist. Now don’t get me wrong now there are some record execs out there. And a lot of artist do sign bad deals too. If an artist album doesn’t sell a lot of records then the label can and will drop them. It happened to a lot of artist on big name labels. And if an artist is not making better financial wit the money they make they’re going to go broke or stay broke. It happens to a lot artist when they don’t invest their money wisely, especially to a lot of Black artist too when A lot of them grow up poor and from the hood. That’s why they should read the contracts before signing. If they don’t understand it they better hire lawyer and bring them to the office with them to help them understand. If an artist don’t wanna sign with a big and label go through all the shady shit, then should sign with an indie label where they can make and produce their own shit. It would be expensive but when they put out their album they keep all the money to themselves.
