In the mv, hoshi is stuck in an infinite time loop and it’s like all the other members of epik high are versions of his character, as if he’s conjured them up so he can get away from the past (however you can see they are all stuck staring at their phone so it’s pretty impossible anyways), for instance, in the car mithra of epik high is driving but when it crashes, hoshi comes out, earlier you can see the car travels past a sign that says past/present and he tries to go towards the present but the car crashes and he’s back to where he’s started at the restaurant and so he’s always stuck checking his phone in that time loop and the video basically goes back to the beginning, it’s soooo cool!

Such a good jam from the legends and Hoshi sounds amazing! I follow Tablo on Instagram and he posted a pic of his notes which said "it should sound like a break up song but actually be about depression" which I though was genius 🤳

Yeah this Epik High MV is soooo gorgeous and the meaning and the lyricism is soooo incredible. I watched some content with folks reacting who were watching only w/ Korean subtitles and they were giving insight and yeah I won't ruin their words by trying to summarize it here, but the reactors were andy & jas if anyone wants to look it up and watch and also I think you would really get a deeper appreciation for the song than you already have as well! For me the music feels very sad but comforting at the same time - kinda like you were saying, it feels like that feeling of loss/grief that comes with endings but also with the understanding that things will be ok. Ultimately, things will always move forward and the person you care about is ok and moving forward and in time you'll be able to do it as well, once you learn to let go of the past and stop clinging so tightly. Also that idea of how the world keeps moving forward is for me really tied to this quote - like sticking in a super low place of depression.... if you understand it isn't forever that you'll be in that situation of be feeling that way, it helps to lessen the low impact of that situation. I think the word "undue" is important, too. Some things it's fair - completely due - to be extremely low. It's kind of more so warning about overly reacting to the highs and lows of life rather than saying you should never feel extreme lows or highs - because sometimes legitimately horrible things happen or sometimes incredibly miraculously wonderful things happen. But tying this PEAK JOY feeling to things that are just positive can really make things harder, or letting yourself become totally clouded with despair over minor setbacks is losing sight of that big picture as well.
