Hey dude! I noticed you use a grey “paper” as a palette and I’d like to recommend using a glass palette to be more eco-friendly! I got the idea from my art professor who told our class to get a glass panel/glass scraper from Home Depot and put it in a Masterson plastic bin (keeps your oils fresh without drying for a couple days!). Just make sure you get the correct size; I think it’s 12x16. My professor used that same grey paper underneath the glass panel to keep his colors neutral! Just wanted to pass along some advice to a fellow artist. Love your art btw 💕

Just fyi, I use hairspray instead of fixative and it gets the job done perfectly ! So if you don't want to die young, I recommend hairspray as an affordable alternative (however it may not be archival so that's a bummer)😁😁 hope this helps anyways !

My grandfather is an artist (I think that's where my artistic side comes from), and when I was younger I always had paint stains on my clothing from acrylics, and I always used to say stuff about wishing I didn't make that much of a mess. My grandfather always says that if you end up messy (workspace or clothing), you're a real artist (kind of the sentiment of without at least a tiny bit of a mess, you aren't reaching your full potential with your art). Of course this wouldn't apply to all media (digital art), but it's always helped me to not feel bad about the messes I make because it's just part of the artistic process. You're going to make a mess, and that's okay. When you're working with paints, I feel like the mess is inevitable.

I just started watercolor because its incredibly convenient and clean up is quick. However, Im crazy impatient and always muddle colors because I never let it dry all the way. I found that working on 2+ paintings at a time makes my work better, even though only one will probably end up good at the end. I also found that if my second/third painting is lose practice of the main painting it helps (like I do this all at once).
