Artist Photo Reference Tour & Haul | 200 Great Shops, Rochester, New York | Vintage & Retro Haul!

It's another day trip & this time it is in the name of "vintage"! Grab your cuppa, it is going to be a longer video!
Today, we are in the city of Rochester, New York! I am on the hunt in search of vintage & retro black and white, faded photos along with reclaimed postcards and other inspiring items any artist would love!
Why am I looking for these? As an illustrator and fine artist, I find these images fascinating, full of history and interesting! There is so much to choose from from at the "200 Great Shops" mega co-op! Walk with my family and I as we explore all things vintage, retro and inspirational! Come along!

Just seeing those square B & W photos with the scalloped edges brought me back. It reminded me that I have a box of those type of photos I got when my my mom passed away and I cleaned out the house. There's one of my mother and her sisters sitting around our kitchen table just like the one you showed. I'm going to dig them out and do some sketches. Old B & W photos are great for value studies. Thanks for the reminder!

Ohh my goodness! So good to hear from you!!! Excellent comment!!! You found GOLD!!!! How fun will that be for you to study family faces and the familiarity will be warming!! These photos are so plentiful! Don’t be afraid to scan into your computer and print out larger if the details are too small and or take a photo with an iPad or phone where you can enlarge the details! And of course there is always the old trusty magnifying glass! Great luck with a new fun project! Please let me know how it turns out!!
