+yaweification some people actually are though. i remember this guy in my class when i was 9. he could draw animals without a reference that looked like grayscale photos. he said he never even learnt how to draw. didn't even like art. the teachers just kept asking him too, calling him an artistic genius.

The first one was so accurate for me because I uploaded great pieces of art that I was really proud of, but then when I posted my crappy pen sketch page, people loved it! Maybe it's because people feel like they see a more personal side of you when you upload doodles?

When you lose your pencil... And it can't be any other pencil, it has to be THAT pencil. I cannot work without my pencil. It is MY PENCIL if I lose it I won't do art until I find another destined pencil.

I'm an amature artist and I deal with a lot of these problems but the one about people assuming we're born with this "talent" is, by no means, a bad thing. It's why some artist can charge an obscene amount for their work. Make your customers think it's magic. It just flows from you with ease. Resist the urge at all cost to tell people about the effort you put into your work. Otherwise you're just a common laborer. As opposed to a "genius".

I'm a writer, but when I get ideas for a novel/short story at night I also write them down in a book. Problem is in the morning I don't get at all what I meant, or the idea is super crappy. But at 2 am all ideas are apparently great...

Dino Tomic my biggest art problem is when you're inking and someone "accidentally" messes up the line. I mean, can they not see my elbow sticking out into the place they're walking or are they careless and want to mess up my craft?

I don't like when people tell me I'm talented, either. Maybe I had a knack and a liking for drawing ever since I was little, but I wasn't born being able to do what I do today. And also, when they say that it feels like they're lying to themselves and robbing themselves of the opportunity to learn a skill, like I did. That's sad to me. I try to correct them sometimes.
