Andy isn't as flashy as some of the guitarists in this series, but his songwriting is top notch and Therapy? are undoubtedly one of the greatest rock bands of the last 30 years. Many great records, catchy riffs, always amazing live, what's not to love?!

I remember someone lending me the cassette of ‘Nurse’ at work all those years ago! Their latest is still amazing all these years later. Consistently great songwriting and album production. Great musician, thanks Andy.

Had my 900 since 1995, thrilled to see the mighty Therapy? swearing by them too!

Sorry to burst your bubble man but Andy uses a JCM 800 not a 900, they just didn't have any 800's in the studio that day (check out the Therapy? Fb page under this video, he commented and let everyone know)... Still a feckin awesome amp though bro 🤘

@@FLITT check out the live footage from Donnington, there are 8 dials on the front of the twin heads used with a 1/4" jack either side of the dials. The 800 had 6 dials and the two jacks were on the right hand side of the dials (and they definitely not the split channel model). Plus I saw those old stacks with the Marshall script rip-off in person many times and they were 900s. Either way they're an awesome band and both the 900 and the 800 are awesome amps. Have a good one!

Used the JCM900 a lot for recording after hearing it sounding awesome the way Therapy made it. Use a booster, EQ properly, reverb, and a pinch of chorus.... That'll do! :)

i was 18 in 1990, born in West Belfast and my guitaring was poor. TBH it has not improved much. i grew up with Trex and Beatles and Buzzcocks and Blondie and Bowie stuff. but i didn't have a lot of "my" guitar heroes. second youngest or 8, Page and Harrison and Young were all spoken for then a few things happened. Graham Coxon, Bernard Butler, Billy Duffy - loads of indie/ alt great players i learned a lot from those guys, but they were really good players. i was, frankly, a bit crap Andy Cairns and Therapy? showed me you didn't need to be the best to participate. that dragged me back through Brian James, Capt Sensible, Steve Jones, the Rumour, the Clash with a new perspective plug in., play, enjoy yourself - if people start giving you grief because you aren't Eddie or Yngwie, so what?! its art, not science spleased a company as big as Marshall is taking the time to highlight a fellow Northern Irish man well played Marshall and Andy!!!

Still think this is a great amp. Had one a bunch of years, never understood the hate
@GODenWord4 жыл бұрын
I do like JCM900 too. But the hate is probably because digital reverb. If it would have quality spring like MESA does then it would be oversome amplifier. Ofcause if you want JCM800 then it sounds nothing like it and if you want JCM800 then get JCM800.
@kthornicroft4 жыл бұрын
@@GODenWord I've got a JCM 900 2 x 12 combo (4102) and that does have a proper reverb tank in the back and sounds great.

@@kthornicroft That is great. I did not know the combo has analog reverb!!!
