Amazing line quality on your drawings! It was interesting hearing your comments about flexible nibs, and seeing the variation in thickness you are able to achieve with pressure and angle. 20 years ago or so, it seemed like so many artists were just using tech pens and similar fiber tipped instruments that really couldn't deliver much in the way of variation. What we see here is almost calligraphic, even in illustration- very nice!

Seeing you work with the gouache makes me consider someday investing in the regular stuff, I’ve got acrylic gouache which is really helpful for the project I’m working on and I love not having to worry about unwanted reactivation, but it dries fairly quickly. I guess I could get a stay-wet palette for now which would probably be cheaper than getting a gouache set.

That dragon shirt into wrap dress look is FIRE. So gorgeous! And that lunar illustration is GORGEOUS, gosh your colour choices and lighting were beautiful, I think possibly helped by the fact that it was a much bigger illustration. I too have found myself fatigued by needing to film all the time and way preferring the art pieces I've ended up not filming. Have a WONDERFUL time in Japan!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your adventures in Japan, please enjoy your trip! Also if you get a chance there are a few art stores and stationers that you could visit if you got time on your schedule and if you're staying somewhere near Tokyo. Sekaido Shinjuku, Forum Art Shop, Uematsu Japanese Art Supply close to Shibuya Crossing. Pigment Tokyo, Kyukyodo and Traveler's Factory too, those are specifically stationers for paper and pigments. There a few more obscure ones, but I don't want to overwhelm or take over your experience of Japan. Cheers!

Your KZbin channel has possibly taken a nose dive as you said because you are mostly doing live streams instead of videos. I personally miss the videos of you doing art but live streams are just too long and slow for me. I don't usually watch them all. Just a portion of them. I love your art!

Sure, everyone has different preferences, but the majority of videos are not livestreams. 👀 And I don't think some longer videos are problematic and a reason for the dive.
