@erinpicken64355 жыл бұрын
Anitra Duke being slim doesn’t stop your period, being anemic or underweight or just old malnutrioned can stop it. If you are skinny but healthy like these athletes, you should have a period. This is because if your body isn’t getting the nutrients or food that it needs, it will stop unnecessary processes to save energy such as the menstrual cycle or hair and nail growth. But these girls are extremely healthy, so they shouldn’t have problems like that.
@FlyWithTime5 жыл бұрын
Michelle Irigoyen thanks! We use tampons with no problem. I’ve seen very young girls quit the sport if they cannot figure out how to use a tampon, though. It’s very sad, but elite swimmers don’t even think about their periods.

Fun fact: they can also hear the music underwater but the speakers underwater are specifically designed to reverberate sound in the water. Outside of water, the music sounds warbled but underwater, it’s crystal clear and you can hear the music perfectly I swam competitively on a club team that shared the Olympic sized pool with a club synchronized swimming team….so the pool had those underwater speakers. I’m not saying we should get rid of commentators, I’m saying we should only hire the ones who will give helpful info about what the performers are doing, and keep their mouths shut about how “they wish that they would just hurry up and start the routine” very good point to bring up though :)

Now look closer: do you see any swimmers with their mouths covered? I don’t. So what’s your point?
@audreyli_creations3 жыл бұрын
@@ritabarcar ok, just look: these swimmers have to hold their breath for minutes underwater. their heads are completely submerged; there’s no way to get air. that’s literally the equivalent of having your face completely covered. COMPLETELY COVERED. now, compare this to wearing a mask: a mask has open areas where air can come in, and you can breathe easily. that’s not anywhere near being completely covered. edit: whoops i didn't mean entire minutes. it's around 10-20 seconds. but even then that's quite a long time to hold your breath while kicking around whilst also being upside down.
@ritabarcar3 жыл бұрын
@@audreyli_creations, now YOU look closer, but this time with a TIMER! So, what’s the longest period of time they have their heads completely submerged? And what is it that they do with their mouths the very first second they rise their faces above the water line? That’s right, they exhale! And if you pay attention, they also take a deep breath at the very last second before they submerge. I mean, I don’t really claim you’ll get the point now, but their faces show it quite obviously, again, if you pay attention. And I seriously doubt you can do any of those movements with a muzzle on. But hey, if you’re so content with a mandatory muzzle on your face, since you’re advocating for it that hard, then I guess so be it.

Personally, synchronized swimming has been in a part of my life for years now, and also it brung me an option to “escape” all the other problems I had from school, or other.. but I also realized that it gave me stress, a lot of stress that I didn’t know would come, because when I was just starting I didn’t do competitions, but when I started, it’s when all the stress came. I just want to let you know that don’t let the stress come to you, you need to get over it, just tell yourself that this is only a few minutes of the years you got to live and it’s nothing compared to that. Stress is a very annoying feeling that everyone feels. So I want some people to gain trust in their selves, and know that being stressed will just bring you down more. Just do your best every time and you’ll succeed! Have a great day and I hope this helped you
