@@EC2019 its artistic swimming. It is impressive and it’s more than just “dancing”. I challange you to “dance” under water for 4 minutes and you’ll quickly realize how much skill it actually requires. If you don’t like it, do not watch it.

@@EC2019 The literal definition of a sport is an activity which requires physical exertion and skill. The entirety of this sport is incredibly impressive. It is the combination of swimming and gymnastics, which are both Olympic sports. The synchronization and work those ladies put into this sport are as equal as anyone else. It does not make a “nonsense” of the institution and the standards for this sport are very high. I’d respect your opinion if you did not like the sport but disrespecting the sport, the institution which chooses to set a stage for this sport and the people who participate and are dedicated to this sport is making nonsense of yourself.

@erinpicken6435
@erinpicken6435 5 жыл бұрын
Anitra Duke being slim doesn’t stop your period, being anemic or underweight or just old malnutrioned can stop it. If you are skinny but healthy like these athletes, you should have a period. This is because if your body isn’t getting the nutrients or food that it needs, it will stop unnecessary processes to save energy such as the menstrual cycle or hair and nail growth. But these girls are extremely healthy, so they shouldn’t have problems like that.
@FlyWithTime
@FlyWithTime 5 жыл бұрын
Michelle Irigoyen thanks! We use tampons with no problem. I’ve seen very young girls quit the sport if they cannot figure out how to use a tampon, though. It’s very sad, but elite swimmers don’t even think about their periods.

Fun fact: they can also hear the music underwater but the speakers underwater are specifically designed to reverberate sound in the water. Outside of water, the music sounds warbled but underwater, it’s crystal clear and you can hear the music perfectly I swam competitively on a club team that shared the Olympic sized pool with a club synchronized swimming team….so the pool had those underwater speakers. My coach used to play music that we could listen to during swim practice. It was awesome

The sheer difficulty of this sport is mind-blowing. Swimming in itself is difficult. Doing that whilst keeping afloat and generating force to propel teammates out of water is insane and for the entirety of about 4mins...that's breathtaking. @@MM_FarmAndExotics Clearly you don’t have endometriosis, or throw up because of your period, or have migraines because of your period, or have your legs go numb because of that endometriosis, etc.. there is definitely something to be said for a person who does this on their period. It would be absolutely horrible if she pointed out someone crying when it went badly. I hate it when the cameras chase someone who's devastated to the point where they can't control it, that is just cruel.

TheMontrealGirl while that is a valid point, The commentator in this video was making comments that were just rude and I don’t think much of what they said would have been to enjoyable for a blind individual either, they clearly weren’t trying to be all that helpful to those who can’t see, they sounded stuck up and pretentious, thinking this was about them, that the world wanted to here their opinions as apposed to just watch or listen to what is happening. I’m not saying we should get rid of commentators, I’m saying we should only hire the ones who will give helpful info about what the performers are doing, and keep their mouths shut about how “they wish that they would just hurry up and start the routine” very good point to bring up though :)

i trained artistic swimming for about 2 years, it's incredibly difficult sport. first off, you have to swim like a professional and you have to be fast. and those acrobatics, it takes time, and i mean _time_ to learn each one of them, they have to be perfectly executed. then choreography - everybody has to be synchronised and well-trained. it is one of the most difficult sports i've seen, that's why i admire it so much. these athletes deserve more recognition and respect!

They practice 40 hours a week, and they have to be able to do so much. There's gymnastics, long-distance and endurance running, weight training and tons of swimming! It is, without a doubt, the highest form of water sports and ballet there is. I've been following synchronized swimming since it was introduced during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and I can't imagine doing it myself. It's admirable.

Now look closer: do you see any swimmers with their mouths covered? I don’t. So what’s your point?
@audreyli_creations
@audreyli_creations 3 жыл бұрын
@@ritabarcar ok, just look: these swimmers have to hold their breath for minutes underwater. their heads are completely submerged; there’s no way to get air. that’s literally the equivalent of having your face completely covered. COMPLETELY COVERED. now, compare this to wearing a mask: a mask has open areas where air can come in, and you can breathe easily. that’s not anywhere near being completely covered. edit: whoops i didn't mean entire minutes. it's around 10-20 seconds. but even then that's quite a long time to hold your breath while kicking around whilst also being upside down.
@ritabarcar
@ritabarcar 3 жыл бұрын
@@audreyli_creations, now YOU look closer, but this time with a TIMER! So, what’s the longest period of time they have their heads completely submerged? And what is it that they do with their mouths the very first second they rise their faces above the water line? That’s right, they exhale! And if you pay attention, they also take a deep breath at the very last second before they submerge. I mean, I don’t really claim you’ll get the point now, but their faces show it quite obviously, again, if you pay attention. And I seriously doubt you can do any of those movements with a muzzle on. But hey, if you’re so content with a mandatory muzzle on your face, since you’re advocating for it that hard, then I guess so be it.

Personally, synchronized swimming has been in a part of my life for years now, and also it brung me an option to “escape” all the other problems I had from school, or other.. but I also realized that it gave me stress, a lot of stress that I didn’t know would come, because when I was just starting I didn’t do competitions, but when I started, it’s when all the stress came. I just want to let you know that don’t let the stress come to you, you need to get over it, just tell yourself that this is only a few minutes of the years you got to live and it’s nothing compared to that. Stress is a very annoying feeling that everyone feels. So I want some people to gain trust in their selves, and know that being stressed will just bring you down more. Just do your best every time and you’ll succeed! Have a great day and I hope this helped you

I've spent the first 30 minutes worrying that if one of them touches the bottom of the pool the group will be eliminated, and my feets started feeling so so so weird. This is awesome and so hard. I really appreciate the hard work they do in order to perform such a wonderful and hard performance. Good job y'all !

@@tatya222002 i think his Boss music reference music is a Video game comparison...like when you verse a "Boss" in a game there is specific music to accompany a higher difficulty ...basically hes comparing a high difficulty part in a video game with the Russian team...saying they are on a higher difficulty level that usual or something ...idk how to explain exactly but it is praise for them nonetheless

@@Olympics Dear Olympic, i would love to watch all programs on youtube BECAUSE my country Bosnia and Herzgovina streaming only few sports for years now. For example i love Short track speed skating, and in my country people don't even know that sport exist. So it would be awsome to watch every sport on your channel. 💗
