Why is Dan there He died of dysentery day one so I can't like infer why he's associated with mlp through people discussing him so i just I just have no idea

Back when The Hub (the TV channel FIM started out on) launched, there was another show on the same network called "Dan Vs" that was pretty good, but only ran for one season. There was even a short Hub promo where Dan gets a vendetta against Pinkie Pie. So in the early days of brony, there was a lot of crossover in fan works between MLP:FiM and Dan Vs, the most notable being Dan's presence in some of the Flufflepuff videos. It likely would've been made clearer had he not immediate shat himself to death, but que sera sera.
