I agree with a lot of things you say in this video, BUT if you only create and consume nothing you are going to be burned out. It's other peoples art that inspired me to get into art. By only creating you will kill the fun of it. Nice vid.

The video is really good, it mixes personal developpement and betterments with the life of an artist which is an IMPORTANT topic because as you said, Van gogh, Picasso (fuck that guy), all those great artists that we remember and that we are used to mention were mostly broken. I don't feel broken inside I sometimes feel good and sometimes bad but it is REALLY fine. The message is really good but the way to convey it feels "harsh". Not because it is ( the part about social media is harsh for ppl addicted to it) but because you make it "harsher". And that's why I liked your video put in a nuanced way, I felt like you were doing RED PILLS content but with artists. Imma go watch other of your videos

I think you made good points, your system is incredibly productive but can lead to burn out. Enjoying things on the internet is not bad. For example, your concept of Balancing your time between good things is good, but watching a series, listening to music, playing a video game or even consuming other people's art is not bad. Of course, it is more important to reduce all that to a minimum and try to use your time to do other things and enjoy real life.

Well mainly i decide what im looking for before opening pinterest. The problem with looking for references on pinterest is when youre looking to find a reference that will inspire you to draw it- because by the time you find that reference youll have spent all your mental energy so you wont actually draw it. So what i do instead is, for example lets say i want to draw one of my OCs. Before I open pinterest i know what OC i wanna draw and the general mood of the drawing. And for most of my OCs i decide on one or two specific models or actors that look like my OC, so when i go on pinterest i just search the name of that model, and since ive already decided on the mood i want, i can very quickly find a reference that fits what i was looking for. Maybe i can make a video on actual practical advice of how to be productive as an artist- this video was basically me just saying that you should be productive.

nah nah nah wrong wrong wrong! sure, wasting away on social media sucks mega balls, but you can't lump movies & videogames in the same category, cause those things are art too! why bother being an artist at all if we're not gonna take the time to experience art made by others?

Yes, i know movies and videogames are art. KZbin videos technically are too. I didnt say you SHOULD never consume any art- you should create more than you consume,( even if the things you consume are great pieces of art)-I said you COULD not consume anything. For non-artists, their only way to experience art is to consume art made by others. But artists dont need to consume art in order to experience art, because we can create. We have the option of just creating and not consuming. You can think its a bad option, all im saying is, it is an option.
