ARR is easily one of the greatest living composers in the world. His love and mastery over modern instruments such as the continuum fingerboard, harpejji and now the osmose is really astounding

No dispute that @Shantanu Joshi, we are privileged to live in his era Lydian is a prodigy, from AR’s conservatory and has his blessing. He has all the talent to keep 🇮🇳 flying. This is not some idiotic one-upmanship, a disease that we have unfortunately too rooted in. It’s an insult to ARR by bringing him into a numbers game, someone only bothered with his craft and ‘above’ it all

First video of this instrument I've seen where the vibrato was played virtually flawlessly as far as I could tell, impressive. Seems more playable than the seaboard, though it doesn't have the 2D slide capability. Not that I will ever play this instrument, but looking forward to see what talented ppl like this will be able to do with it.

The flutes (bansuri? silver flute?) sounds great. This makes a compelling case for the Osmose. What's the sample library A.R. Rahman is using here?
@jongnaiad Жыл бұрын
Good question.. That bansuri synthesis is definitely very convincing. Hope it's part of the factory library.

It's the "bansuri" preset, and no samples are used here. Everything is based on physical modelling!

@cooltrades74692 жыл бұрын
No it isn't . Rollie tryed thhis in a better way and went bankrupt . It's a hype for unexperienced . Marketing with names , etc . Bull shit. Nothing special about Osmose . In April 2020, Roli sold the JUCE product to PACE Anti-Piracy firm. The company lost money in 2019 and 2020, and in late 2021 declared bankruptcy. A new company, named Luminary, formed by Lamb with $6M in startup funds from investors, will receive ownership of many of Roli’s products.. Read this and go search for the seabord. Same here . Just marketing hype. Soundwise...nothing spcial. You can do this with softsynths. Common sounds mostly. Just new look and payed marketing for naives.:))
@peterbondy2 жыл бұрын
@@cooltrades7469 yeah, I know the Roli product of course. Way too expensive for what was only a controller and a very difficult one to play at that. Finding sounds that worked well with it was problematic. The Roli, in the right hands though was a powerful and very musical controller (as that wonderful old performance of Purple Rain demonstrated) but was always destined to fail given the price point and limiting playability for many. The difference I see here is that the sounds are tailored to work with the keyboard and at a price that is actually within reach of most professional players. Not sure why you see this as purely marketing hype? What we have is what is shown, no more or less. A very expressive keyboard with accompanying sounds. Yes, I totally understand that I need to actually sit down with it and play it before passing final judgment. How does it actually sound (the most important criteria), what are the presets like across the entire spectrum seeing it is largely a preset driven synth. But there are many videos already showing a variety of musicians and styles playing some beautifully expressive parts in ways that a traditional synth are simply not capable of producing.
Hi there, updates about what? :) We'd love to know.

Which vst is Mr.Rehman using ?

All sounds you hear him playing are coming from the inbuilt sound engine, the EaganMatrix.

Very much practical keyboard. Would be more useful for synth vsti and kontakt engine strings and brass sections libraries to amplify expressions. Beside composer and performer, I think the sound sample designer would be benefit tremendously via this keyboard for their vsti. - Music Composer S.A.Arun (Audio Engineer)

@kingcoherent2 жыл бұрын
It’s surprisingly cheap, right? Given the mechanical complexity and amount of r&d required. Similar sized and priced digital synths have far less functionality.
@gna90612 жыл бұрын
@@kingcoherent it's surprisingly cheap for you, but it's really hard for musicians in india to get this. I'm not talking about ar level or privilege groups in india lol, but your everyday jingle composer. I hope they have some sort of monthly payment plan which will be super cool.
@kingcoherent2 жыл бұрын
@@gna9061 dont get me wrong, this is not pocket change.. it’s a significant investment. However, compared to similarly featured products it is a lot less expensive than expected. The Roli Seaboard Grand was more than 25% more expensive when it launched, and it was only a controller (it’s no longer available). A Linnstrument is smaller, and also only a controller. A Haken Continuum is a lot more expensive (at least double) and the only other way to get the sound engine in hardware form. For keyboard players this could be as revolutionary as the step from harpsichord to piano forte. The relatively low price point will have a lot to do with its success. My Waldorf Quantum set me back a lot more, a Prophet will set you back a lot more (I could go on), But arguably this is the more interesting instrument to play. I wish them all the luck in the world with this. And who knows, may be in a few years there’ll be a controller only version for half the price.until the, if you want expressive controllers on the (relative) cheap try the stuff that roli makes still (or eBay their older models). You won’t get a full keyboard, or the same level of control. But it’ll be a step along the way.
