literally someone told me it didn't make sense that everyone in beauty and the beast had british accents and they said it didn't make sense but i was like in the original one everyone had american accents and they said it's not the same thing? somehow americans seem to think they have no accent but they do. it's distinct from the rest of the world. they're literally english speakers of course if it's made in england they'd speak with their own accent? there aren't a lot of french actors who can speak in english. they can't make a whole movie with a full cast of english speakers that are right for the part. and if you wanted authenticity with a whole cast of french people wouldn't you just make it french?

Schmidt is a detective, the usual kind. Wears long trench coats, has jet black hair, a few beauty marks, looks they're on the verge of death, works one nine to five shifts, and drinks coffee like it's water. One day, a serial killer way on the loose. They killed five people already, and instead of being eager to capture the perp, Schmidt is actually the one who's so tired and annoyed by this whole ordeal. He was sent by his boss to investigate the crime scene- a dingy alleyway already cleaned up for investigation. The victim was a boy in his teens. Had quite a few tattoos and seemed like the type to join a gang. Coming there by his Chevy Impala (which was passed down to him by his father) with a sandwich in a paper bag and his coffee turning a bit cold. He parks the car by the street and gets out before he locks it. The pavement contrasted his shiny polished shoes before Schmidt entered the alleyway. It was devoid of life and only piles of garbage, empty bottles, and newspapers were there. On the ground was an outline of the victim's corpse which was found a week ago. Deciding that he couldn't get much info since the forensics team and investigatory squad already paid a visit, he decided to ask around. It was easier that way, but he didn't like it. The nearest establishment to the alleyway was a small tattoo parlor. It was in a brick building and a window let him see that there were some people there. Two women and a guy. There were no customers and they seemed to be cleaning up. He entered the parlor, a small bell ringing. A single person turned to him. "Hey!" they said. It was the guy. He was smiling. This guy had olive skin, glasses, dyed hair, and a 10/10 smile. He was wearing a red shirt that barely fit him with a few buttons undone, showing off his muscles and a hint of a tattoo near his collarbone. Schmidt nodded. "Hi." The guy smiled. "Not much of a talker, huh? Well, sit down, I'll get the book to show you the designs-" "Sorry, I'm not here to get a tattoo." The guy raised a brow. Schmidt dug into his coat's inner pockets and took out his ID. "I'm Detective Lucas Schmidt, here to investigate a recent case of and I was hoping that you know about him." He wasn't hoping. He was insisting. He didn't want this case to drag on. The piles of paperwork would be crazy. "I'm here for the death of Ivan Woodwork. He's about this tall, in his teens, and has tattoos." This seemed to catch the attention of one of the ladies. She turned around, looking sad. She cleared her throat, making the detective look in her direction. "Ivan was one of our customers who would frequently come here. He liked to get inked on his arms and he always wore a tank top to show them off." She sniffled, looking like she was on the verge of tears. "He... Oh god-" The man walked to the girl's side and slung an arm over her. "Don't cry, Cathy. It doesn't make a much of a pretty face, right?" "I- I know, but..." "C'mon. Just take a breathe, 'kay? Think positive things. Breathe in, breathe out- that's it. Good. Clara, could you please help Cathy calm down?" "Fine." The other lady named Clara looked annoyed but ushered Cathy away to the employee's break room before the register. The two men were silent for a while before the tattoo artist sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry 'bout that. Cathy was close to Ivan since they're pretty close in age. It's been hard for her to deal with his death." "No, I understand. Dealing with a loss could be... painful." There was an awkward silence between the two. Maybe it was the right thing to say. Schmidt groaned in his brain, dreading this conversation. This is why he hated asking around. Too much thinking about what to say. Damn. "Oh, uh, I forgot to introduce myself.
