Nathan's gym leader strikes me as a very interesting character. Team is 6 pokemon and very strong, however the older gym leaders think of him as making a mockery. It's an interesting place to be as the 8th gym leader, who a lot of trainers never make it to. Volkner from gen 4, for example, is so bored he wants to quit. But Nathan, he's just so friendly that he's like "some people say I make a mockery of Pokémon battling. That I don't take it seriously enough. But when you think back to it, what was your first battle like? Did you have fun?" *Yes/No box* "Good! That's the way I think all battles should be. If you don't have fun, what's the point? Anyway, enough prattling, adventurer! *Holds out his sword* "You've made it this far! Now let's see what you're made of! Time to test your mettle!"

So what I loved most about this and im sure it wasnt intentional is that all these 3 characters play off each other. Karinas character Flames Jacobs with is according to plan which makes it also a bit that powers Nathan. Together they can just keep empowering one another without realizing it.

Aw, I liked Jumpluff. He was a main on my team in Pokemon Colosseum. Jumpluff isn’t the best Pokemon, I’m aware of that, but what Jumpluff does really well for a team is it can be fast enough to put status conditions on the enemy team. And I thought it was cute. But yeah, it’s not the best at attacking anything directly. I did think its design was kind of odd in the context of the whole evolution line, but I for some reason didn’t like Skiploom. I like Hoppip, weirdly not a fan of Skiploom, and I like Jumpluff. And I always like to name Jumpluff “Hopscotch”.
