TEO DESERVES ALL THE ACCOLADES ONE IN A VERY INTERESTING RECORD MUSIC BUSINESS CAN OFFER. THIS GENTLEMAN AN INDUSTRY LEADER INVENTOR PRODUCER HELPED TO CREATE A GENRE OF AMERICAN MUSIC (JAZZ) FOR A GENERATION OF 9:38 DEVOTED LISTENERS. NONE OF THE AFORE MENTIONED MUSICIANS WHO WERE THE FINEST WORKING DID NOT BELIEVE HE COULD BE REPLACED.HE MODESTLY DOES NOT NAME ALL HIS MANY WORKS OR SPECIFIC GENIUS.HE KNEW EVERYONE HAD BEEN TO AND WORKED IN THE HIPPEST CLUBS . HE COULD DO A PODCAST OR TEACH ANY NUMBER CLASSES I HOPE TO HEAR MORE! THE MILES DAVIS / MONK STORIES COULD ENLIGHTEN AND ENTERTAIN FOR HOURS. Thanks for granting us a portion of your amazing life/ time. PEACE. M

This is why that music was so great. They were just being their real selves. There was no pretense about being a "jazz musician" they were just real human beings trying to capture and present the genius they had... profanity, insanity and all.

I'm laughing out loud, this stuff is really funny. Mingus got him righting music when their about to hit record. Monk is completely in a world of his own chasing Steve Allen around for money. I could listen to Teo talk all day.

Miles turning down $$$ most Jazz guys begging for a gig. Why Miles drove Ferraris and the others on the subway
@allen69245 жыл бұрын
Did you notice they went up every time teo turned them down; $2500 a pop. Went from $2500 to $7500 in three calls. "Book it muthafucka" LMAO. And miles wasn't on the call. That's how popular Mile's music was. Promoters don't do that for 90% of artist.

I was subbing for the drummer at Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. It was all sight reading, no rehearsal. In one number, on page 2 there was a note that said, "cut to" but there was no "to", just a red line snaking down the page, around to the next page and down around the next 2 pages. By the time I found the cut, it was over. All I could do was keep time.
