Last year (Spring of 2023) there were a lot of people buying baby chicks for the first time because of the egg shortage here in the US. So it's fair to believe that this year we have a lot of first time chicken keepers that are in their first spring with their hens. Some may believe that their hen will lay everyday (and maybe some hens will) but that's not the normal situation when it comes to the frequency of hens laying eggs. So what should you expect to experience from your hens laying eggs?

I'd love tokeep Chickens but I'm concerned about the amount of Foxes that are around here. Sure I could build a Coup but it would have to be pretty tough to out-smart the Fox.

Foxes can be tough. I would think that if you really wanted to get some chickens that a good coop with a solid floor (foxes like to dig under) and a good mobile electric net would protect your chickens from a fox.
