Correction: 4:30 The balls in this study were actually yellow, not red (red plastic squares were used in a different experiment in the same paper), and the chicks imprinted on 5 balls together, not just a single ball.

A FEW ORGANIZATIONS YOU CAN SUPPORT:
Farmed animal sanctuaries provide a safe home for a small number of rescued farmed animals, help the public connect with these animals, and raise awareness about the conditions to which their fellows are subjected by the animal agriculture industry. The following two sanctuaries provided footage for this video:
luvinarms.org/
roostersanctuary.org/
Mercy For Animals: focused on ending industrial animal agriculture through undercover investigations of factory farms, lobbying for laws to help farmed animals, etc.
mercyforanimals.org/
The Transfarmation Project: project run by Mercy For Animals to help farmers who want to transition away from animal agriculture
thetransfarmationproject.org/
The Good Food Institute: conducts scientific research and government advocacy to help make plant-based and cell-cultured meat more competitive with slaughtered meat.
gfi.org/
Vegan Land Movement: buys land currently used to farm animals and converts it back to natural habitat, providing a home for wild animals, plants, and fungi. If we all ate plants instead of animals, the global human population could be fed using just a fraction of the agricultural land we are currently using, and the remaining land could be returned to nature.

OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO:
Support local ballot initiatives to help farmed animals. Here are a few examples of current initiatives in the US as of 18 Sep 2023.
Ban factory farms in Berkeley, CA: compassionatebay.org/berkeley...
Ban factory farms in Sonoma County, CA: www.endfactoryfarming.vote/
Ban fur and slaughterhouses in Denver, CO: proanimal.org/
Write to your representative and tell them you want government subsidies to be shifted away from animal agriculture and plants grown as animal feed and toward plants grown to feed people. Currently, most government agricultural subsidies go to support animal agriculture, which artificially reduces the cost of animal products relative to healthier and more environmentally sustainable plant foods. In the US, this is especially relevant when the Farm Bill is up for renewal, which happens about every 5 years (currently up for renewal in 2023).
