Finally! A video that actually mentions toxin in apple seeds. It shocks me on how many people either don't know or ignore it completely!

Would it be easier to use an Emerson blender? Would you get more juice?
@artofcreationhomestead Жыл бұрын
I'm sure there are a few ways that are easier lol. Not sure an immersion blender would be the right avenue to go. It might just become like applesauce. Anyone could probably just use a juicer and be good....I was just enjoying the old school method that day

Thank you for sharing. I just worked up #24 of Fuji apples for apple butter. wanted to make sure I didn't have to pressure can before I worked the juice into jars. Be safe, Be prepared, Be Blessed!

That sounds great....Fuji is an underrated apple....probably one of my favorites

Thanks for the behind the scenes action. It was looking like a crime scene 🤣 Those poor apples never stood a chance. Do you can it because it's unpasteurized or can you not can it & maybe keep it in the fridge? Hope y'all are having a good week. ♥️

I knew you would enjoy Jason's little tutorial. 😂😂😂 I couldn't stop laughing at him. Yes you can just skip the canning and put it straight in the fridge. It just won't last as long.

What about using a juicer. That’s what I use. The juicer strains it raw.
@artofcreationhomestead2 жыл бұрын
Oh I'm sure a juicer is easier...I just enjoyed doing this by hand 😀
@Damselfly543152 жыл бұрын
I wondered about that but I have a manual juicer, and couldn't find ONE video that showed doing it with my juicer style, so I cooked mine to release the juice and gonna THEN put it thru mu hand juicer...THEN follow the bottle and can in quarts in waterbath
@Damselfly543152 жыл бұрын
okay that didn't work for me, I got 4 qts 1pint of juice and the rest went to Apple Butter...dont know what I did not quite right, but got a ton of apple butter from a 1/2 bushel of Honey Crisp apples...just was super sweet so didn't need sugar...I'll keep trying, have 2 1/2 bushels left, including McIntosh and Johnathan, Granny Smith are not in yet...

How many pounds of apples did it take to make 7 quarts?
@michaelh.jr.5522 Жыл бұрын
In my experience if you use an apple press it takes roughly 17lbs to 25lbs of apples to produce 1 gallon of juice or about 1/3 to 1/2 a bushel(=47lbs) of apples per gallon.

Can’t I just juice the apples to can it? Why cook it?
@artofcreationhomestead Жыл бұрын
Honestly we just wanted to do it the old fashioned way. We had a lot of fun going through the process
@heathercontois4501 Жыл бұрын
or you could make apple butter.

Yep. Angela makes delicious apple butter but that day we were having fun making juice in an older fashioned manner
