The game ended because the map lacked resources. This was a horrible low strategy game. It only gets interesting around 34 minutes because toss realized death is more fun than this game. I feel sorry for anyone who thought this was a good way to spend 38 minutes of their lives. I watched at 2.5x and even then it was too long. I'm fine with a long game if there is strategy and misdirection. The reavers were largely unused. No corsairs to take out the science vessels or block for arbiter drops. almost no attempt to mind drag. The only interesting thing in the first 20 minutes was sending 4 vultures in to kill 12 probes. That is a great trade because you also get the 12 mines. PLEASE no more of the long lame unoriginal games.

Spot-on analysis. To be fair, I've always wondered why artosis casts any TvP outside Light vs Snow games since there's just not enough sparks in other games, especially when it comes to foreigners.

Your expectations are broken, go watch historic best of compilations if you only want those type of games. The point of following recent games from players of all skill levels is to see the current state of the meta + player skill(which varies based on the meta + player health + player age).

Dewalt was extremely inconsistent here. Some moments he was playing worse than I would...and then at other moments making miracles happen. Mihu was playing very clean for the most part..consistency beats occasional awesomeness. The bad recall was rough but it was far worse when Dewalt kept screwing up his attack groups and only sending 1/2 or 3/4 of his units.

I love when shit goes so wrong in Broodwar. Once I was offracing as terran and playing vs zerg. I meant to irradiate an ultralisk but ended up throwing a dmatrix. It was so glorious to see, I ended up giving d matrix to 5 more ultras and GG'd out. Beautiful, beautiful recall here.

Missed recall seemed to be a game changer. Dewalt seemed sloppy at times but I guess Brood War is just an incredibly hard game to play cleanly. The top pros just make it look easy...

That recall was actually better than most. Normally, a recall just leads to an entire lost battalion for the protoss and rarely does much more than clear a few mines and turrets.

very much enjoyed this game. Base trades at the end were insane. supply was like 110 vs 110, 90 vs 90, 70 vs 70, then 50 vs 50, and the finally it was like 2 tanks and a vulture vs like one dragoon and one zealot. good stuff.

To those of you bashing Dewalt (or both): You haven't played Starcraft a least bit if you think playing a match this intense is "boring" and "easy". I would love to see how well would you micro 2 Arbiters (preferably on seperate control groups), a Shuttle (another control group), a Zealot group (another ctrl grp), 2-3 grps of Dragoons (sometimes not even on ctrl grp), your 10+ production facilities, your rally points, directing your popping probes to mine, sweating to land a statis on at least 2 tanks before your Arbiter is killed or EMP'd, praying your zealot drop actually draws friendly fire from tanks, keeping your observers alive and cleaning mines while facing an army with superior siege fire power, and all this whitout dropping the ball on your macro and risking a Terran catching up to your supply/base number. Or if looked from a Terran side, being on the edge to snipe High Templars before they zap your whole army, sniping an Arbiter or shooting an actually hitting EMP, being ready to scan (which takes up 2-3 ctrl grps), unsieging before you kill your own tanks, constantly and I mean CONSTANTLY laying mines, throwing in a clutch D-matrix, repairing shit (ofc), and just being resilient until you can finally push toward one of the many bases of Protoss. This is not easy. These are tense, high-adrenaline, sitting on the edge-until the last moment-situations from beginning to end, and they are an absolute blast to watch. And the superb commentary from Arty just makes it all the better. We should consider ourselves lucky to be able to watch these FREE with FREE commentary.

Can you elaborate on the N scout? It's a somewhat slower scouting pattern on average than the Π scout. I'm guessing the idea is that this way, you scout cross-position last? The idea being that if they are rushing, you'd rather fail to scout a rush from cross positions than from adjacent positions?

Incredible game as it turned out. I don't fully get it, though: T won every battle for the first ~20 minutes, was the beneficiary of some excellent defense and a whole bunch of donated arbs and shuttles, and still the game was on a knife-edge from 25 minutes until the closing seconds.

Because at the point onward dewalt changed his strategies from brainless melee to suppressing Terrans expansion which worked

At the end Dewalt started batting 100 that's why. Every storm was connecting, every unit was hitting the right target etc. Right after his DT desperation move in the bottom right he seemed to play way better.

Yes, there was no walkable terrain underneath so it recalled the only thing it could - the single air unit.

I feel as if there is deja vu from the past 2 years of Dewalt a bit... but Protoss' especially GOING up that RAMP to the 3rd. I don't get it... either keep the position and snipe the command centre and some tanks and lose your goons before he's even set up then mass up again... OR just let him have it. It keeps putting them into such a horrible position for the mid-game again & again.
