he played like I was playing broodwar. it means terribly. Well, that is why it is a strategy game. good strategy sometimes beat good micro. The issue, imo, the guy stick to carriers with no support relying on cannons as backup. it means... any air attack was a suicidal and cannons were vulnerable to nukes. Arty smartly abused of these fragility.

@@RodrigoLopesBrazil Yeah, this guy was the peak of "Hurr Durr Protoss I build Carriers" That Artosis gets annoyed by. Despite the fact that his carriers were literally get lock-downed and ambushed as they were moving throughout the map, he continued to build them and didn't even send a couple of chargelots to scout or screen his carriers. No attempt to have dragoons or scouts to help support against the bcs, no arbiters to cloak or stasis, and mass-spamming cannons even when Artosis was making them redundant with nukes. Guarantee that after this game, that protoss was screaming about how broken terran is that he can't mindlessly spam carriers and a few HT and win. Like honestly I prefer toss the most out of any race and this guy was a damn moron.

2 years later, but for anyone curious, bio sucks against Protoss because of Reavers. A speed shuttle with a Reaver on it can pretty much clean up 2 dropships worth of marine medic by itself

"You can't really go BC against protoss" What about a hybrid style of just mixing in one or two BC per group so that you can get Yamatos off, and cause the opponent to overreact on seeing said BC. Not sure if the investment is worth it but if they overreact it could be.

BCs need critical mass to be good, 1-2 BCs is not enough dps and they die. The strength of the BC is if you have 12 of them they tend to oneshot enemies as targets stream in, the laser is very fast to aim and fire unlike a lot of other units attacks, so the BC can be laying down huge alpha strikes of damage before units attacking them get a chance to fire. It's most evident against interceptors, where BCs will melt the interceptors before they have a chance to do their little dance and do a bombing run. You can also see it against hydralisks, mutalisks, dragoons and marines, but you have to have critical mass. If the unit you're attacking can get underneath the BCs, the BCs can't retreat and lose, which is why you need the critical mass. Sometimes yamato is good, and against crazy zerg (defiler/ultra/ling) the BCs can be used in small numbers for harassment (killing workers and yamatoing defilers) but generally speaking science vessels perform the same duties just as well.

I hope i dont spoiler it for anyone but the bio with lockdowns against carriers in the 1st third of the game was pretty good i was impresed how effective this was. I also noticed that the toss did not build any arbiters the whole game and should have build some gateways and send some zealot waves at Arty instead of the zillion cannons. Altogether it was a good game, GG.

You'd think, given who they were playing against, the protoss player would know to put more than one pylon powering his buildings :p Although you can't use BCs in a head-on fight vs a proper protoss army, I do wonder if there's a niche use: on maps which have bases around the edge, build 3 of them + a sci vessel (which you'd have anyway), sneak them around the edge to a nexus, EMP + yamato 3 times on the nexus, then immediately retreat.

I have seen tons high level player in SC2 with ghost, nuke, bio and bcs but this is the first... i've seen someone pulled it off in broodwar. Awesome game to watch... those lockdown must be disheartening for the toss each times it lands because he knows a nuke is right behind it and he can't do nothing about it. 👏👏👏

yes nukes and battle cruisers are needed more for SC to be fun, i like the back and forth, with the toss made arbiters and dark templars too. the marines and ultimately the tier 3 units its like a story line of its own.
