Hi Beena di! I'm not a henna artist, but a professional in another field, and have gone through similar exploitation myself. I really appreciate you sharing your experiences. Beginners can get very disheartened by the unpleasant experiences that happen with them when they just set foot in their profession. When an expert like you shares that youv'e faced such problems, it really inspires us to keep striving through all of it. Thank you so much. You are such an inspiration!

yes thats why i always share my experiences because it happens with all and beginners can take note from this how not to make same mistakes ....like this exploitation happens either we are ignorant and new or we let other people take our disadvantage due to our desperation

This is my first comment on your channel. Hi Beena, first of all your henna art is beyond amazing, I love watching your videos, watching your art is simply such a soothing feeling to my eyes! You are such a brave, patient and lovely person, who went through this experience patiently! God bless you for that. After listening to your experience, I wanted to share mines. I love arts, I draw doodles, and random sketches, and hand print quotes just for fun. I thought I should practice some henna skills, since its going to be good for as a hobby, and as a side small way of earning on the side. So while in high school, I started practicing on my friends and slowly my skills were improved, but finding a good henna cone has always been my only trouble while living in USA, because either they are way too expensive or either they are just dry. But still I managed to work some of the cones, which are good in color, but that asks for extra hard work, because I have to twist my designs according to the cones, and its consistency. My reason to mention this was I end up taking more time than a regular henna artist. Anyhow slowly my friends found out I do some good designs so, one of the bride came across to know about me. So I agreed to do her henna and 15 more people including few small girls, and I thought I am not a professional, So I told her, I will do my best and they can pay me according to my work. (and yes that was a mistake in courtesy) So I went to her house and started doing henna with full designs, one by one for hours n hours till 4am in the morning because for the bride I had to do her legs, feet, her whole back, hands, arms, and upper arms also. ThankGod they gave me water and some soda, but I called my mom to send me food, and my brother dropped some for me, and they felt embarrassed that why they didn't offer me food at first place. Anyhow after I was done, they gave me ($90) only which they calculated as $5 per person, and $20 for the bride, and I didn't say anything I came home with a swear pain in my neck, back, my right arm, palm and fingers, and the disappointment! And I regret wasted my hours for $90, later on! But I learned my lesson, after that experience I really didn't get enough motivation to continue doing henna, as I started giving more time to studies. But maybe one day I will have enough time, and patience and good henna cones, and good practice to become a better artist! Need your prayers, and thankyou for making your youtube channel, love you and love it also! Keep going

oh my god ...seriously your experience was worst then me.....it is indeed painful my heart is crying because i can totally understand how you would have felt at the end of the day...dishearten , frustrated and upset not with those people but on your ownself....we are not afraid working hard but being human we look for little appreciation for our hard work and thats really painful when people failed to do that for their own selfish purpose to save little while they are spending bombs somewhere ...in front of you...any way thats their character...we should always take learning point from all experiences...and god bless you dear follow your dream and you will be successful...my prayers are with you always....lots of love

I would have told the lady No. I'm not the type to be very vocal about things, but if she asked or tried to convince me otherwise I would let her know that I have plenty of business, I very clearly remember how I was treated the last time I worked for her, and I am not desperate enough to be treated like garbage again.

you know that people behaviour change the moment they realise who are you in reality????? they become extra sweet and polite because they believe money is everything and if someone is equally stable or more influential then they are candy sugary sweet ....

Beena hugs to you even in Pakistan the concept is same mehendi wali. Henna artist is under rated here too. People just want everything for free. Oh yes i would have told her i would do henna for humans not for dogs :)

so i think its apply to same cultural behaviour ......because other races give too much respect.though there are far more good people than this types
