As someone with years of digital art experience I want to stress that what he is doing is "painting" using a digital medium. However in digital art you do not need to Build up the shadows and highlights. You have layer types that allow you to paint with light and shadows. Such as multiply. You wont have to learn how to create lighter colors simply jist use the layer type to create that shade. However painting using a digital medium is majestic and allows you to practice real life painting to an extent since texture also creates shadows and in digital paint there are no textures that capture real world light.

That actually really depends on the programs you use as well as the effects you choose to use within those programs. Some people choose to paint in a much more digital way with digital painting, and some people choose to paint in a much more traditional way; aka, building up shadows and highlights themselves and not using the shortcuts.

Yes, however he is a painter and wants to paint traditionally using digital media. Artrage and Rebelle are just made for us painters who want to paint digitally instead of in traditional way. There are many reasons like e. g. someona can not afford to rent a studio or has the allergy etc.

What do you think of the ArtRage iPad App? Would you call it professional quality (like to make high resolution art). How would it compare to Procreate? Does the desktop version have more than the iPad one?

So, this is excellent btw. However I wondered what you then “do” with the digital painting? With an actual painting you’d put it up somewhere to admire which seems like a natural conclusion. Do you simply enjoy the satisfaction that you created the piece and open it up occasionally?

Hi, with the digital painting jpeg file you are able to upload or email to companies and get it printed on canvas, t-shirt, posters etc👍🏻

I am playing with ArtRage and Realistic PaintStudio for one week or more. I'm too used to digital that the sensation of real paint makes me feel completely novice again lmao.
