ArtTalk: Session 16 with Ruxing Gao

ArtTalk welcomes Ruxing Gao. We discuss Ruxing's early background with art and how he went about landing his first job opportunities. Ruxing also takes us behind the scenes of several of his portfolio paintings as well as some pieces you won't find elsewhere online. Ruxing also showed us his process for several of his paintings to show how his paintings evolve before reaching their finished form and giving us an idea on his development process.

I disliked the video... he avoided to make the demo, so obvious...and when you said the stream is finished he opened photoshop... Honesty needed

i think this interview is much useful than other photoshop techniques, i mean to understand what the mind is operating while the artist is working on something. there're so many good ps tips you can find on youtube. Besides i think he mentioned in the video that he has many different ways to start up a painting. also he merges all layers after about 10 layers, in order to keep himself focus on the the whole painting. you can always find good ways to learn a tool, but you can't imitate every brush strokes. he shared his ways of learning, to set a goal then find your own way to achieve it.
