Great video. I like the unique look with the candles. I could watch multiple videos of the Essential in action like this. Small mistake at 4:50, you have the faders as endless and I'm not sure an endless fader is even possible lol. Did you make the patches from scratch? If so you should make an Analog Lab patch pack and sell it!

I heartily thank you for your kind words :) Yes, I created all the patches from scratch. As for the knobs, in the case of the keylab mk3 essential they are continuous knobs :)

@@DavidePuxeddu Yes, I figured you were referring to the endless knobs (like at 4:15) and maybe just wrote endless faders also accidentally. Btw, one question I've been trying to confirm about the Essential, can you move through devices on a track in Ableton Live? As in, can you select different devices on the track to control from the keyboard? And if a device has more than 8 parameters, is it possible to cycle through all parameters of the device? Thank you for the reply and for the video! I'd love to see more of the Essential and maybe the Keylab MK3 when it's released... 😊

@@peabodyscientific2082 Hello, so I try to understand the questions you asked me. You asked me if : 1 - In Ableton you can switch between different devices? what do you mean by devices? Consider that the keylab is optimized and already mapped for ableton live so I assume that what you ask can easily be done. 2 - Can you control multiple devices simultaneously? In what sense? 3 - If you have more than 8 parameters to control can you move between the different parameters? If you mean the ableton mixer certainly yes for example. So here you have several possibilities. Meanwhile you have 8 freely mappable knobs and 8 faders, plus you have the memories on the Keylab that allow you to map it in a totally different way and it's all recallable from the screen. As for control as Daw controller you can also have 199992938 tracks you can control them all just by moving with arrows. In this case, we will check groups of 8 tracks at a time, as it happens for all control surfaces.

@@DavidePuxeddu By devices I just mean effects or plug-ins on a track. For example, let's say I have a reverb plug in, a delay plug in, and a compressor on a track. Can I move through and select one of the devices to control one at a time? Once I have selected one of those plug ins, let's say the reverb, can I cycle through all of the reverb's parameters and control them using the knobs and faders? It's a very specific question, but important for some people's workflow in Ableton. 😅

I had a Novation SL MK2 with a very nice Fatar keybed which I had to retire after 10 years of good service so I've been doing my research on how this model's keybed stacks against it, I know they're not in the same price range but honestly the MK3 (Novation) has too much features I don't think I'll use, so I'm in the market for a mid range good feel keybed and your feedback is helping me a lot to decide for the Arturia. So, starting from the assumption that I have never had the opportunity to try the Oxygen, I can tell you that this Keylab really amazed me in terms of value for money. Even considering it comes with Analog Lab Pro which is a huge sound library.

I read that the KeyLab Essential MK3 comes with the Analog Lab Pro. Now I would of course be interested to know whether this great piano preset also comes from there? I like this full sound. In general, I would have liked to know what all these presets are.

Hi, so Keylab Essential comes with Analog Lab Intro (not Pro), which contains 500 ready-to-use presets but naturally has limitations on editing the presets themselves. Finally, I confirm that all the sounds you hear in the demo come from Analog Lab Intro, including the piano. I hope to be proved helpful ;)

Thanks for the great overview. Love the synth voices you picked to highlight. This helps me a lot. I'm leaning towards a transition to an Arturia hybrid/software based solution, versus a new hardware-based synth. I'm working on getting the "1990s" out of my system by publishing a collection of OLD material on my KZbin channel (kzbin.info/door/CVmy7o71G7hRXaEJZKuF-g), and then will figure out what to do after that. My old music was produced and recorded around 1992 with a TASCAM 4-track cassette recorder, MIDI sequencing software running on a Microsoft DOS PC, an old MidiVerb digital signal processor, and a used Roland D-10 MIDI synthesizer that was first on the market around 1988. The Arturia hybrid/software based solution looks like an exciting way forward for me! Thanks again!

Ciao Fabio, scusa il ritardo. Dunque la nuova versione mk3 , rispetto alla versione precedente , porta con se diversi aggiornamenti come ad esempio una nuova keybed molto più suonabile , una comunicazione con la Daw e Analog Lab decisamente migliorata (a tutto vantaggio del workflow), un nuovo display decisamente più leggibile, funzionalità chord play, arpeggiatore interno etc. Diciamo una bella evoluzione.

I bought it and it has alot of delay. Does every midi keyboard have delay? Does this keyboard work better with analog lab V with no delay or with stock plugins? Does that get fixed by audio interface?

You definitely have a latency problem on your audio interface. A master keyboard cannot have any delay since it has no tone generator.

@@DavidePuxeddu I would imagine most people buying this keyboard aren't even routing it through an audio interface, but directly to the computer via USB. Regardless, I agree this sounds like some form of latency issue specific to their setup / computer.

In this case I'm using Analog Lab Pro but the keyboard comes with a lighter version of the same Analog Lab and also other software that I don't remember exactly now.

Thank you so much :) I confirm that the quality/price ratio is excellent. The fret is not at all masculine and is extremely playable. Certainly not like much more expensive mechanics but it is an excellent compromise.

The sounds all come from Analog Lab V :) to be precise they are all sounds from V Collection 9. Most of them are my Custom presets though.

in fact it is a midi controller, so it must control something, in this case it shows the integration with ALV. It also feels natural to me. But they are points of view. For the moment, a midi controller cannot be used in coffee.
