Technically you can! But my advice would be that if you’re just a beginner and want to learn keys, it’s better to get a decent keyboard; and If you can spend some extra money, get a keyboard that has MIDI. Full fledged MIDI controllers are for someone who’s already working with studio monitors, audio interface, and DAW. Hope this helps! 😇

@harry_astron i aleady had casio 61 keys which is very limited to learn piano and very discouraged. I am considering about some weight key action 88 keys digital and Midi Mk3 essential 88keys . i found that i am very easy bored person. it is hard to find Weight digital piano under 500$ that has functions , chord mode, scale mode , mod wheel , pads..ect..especially free presets over thousands sounds. none of digital piano under 500$ or something like Roland Fp 30x, Yamaha P125, Kawaii Es110 have function like Midi 88keys .

@harry_astron I also not consider to learn making or produced music yet. I just want the new Mk3 essential 88keys as I mentioned though it has semi- weight key action not weight key action like Digital piano. but if I think about feature, mode, Software, ect... I think I have lot of pros over digital piano and because Arturia Mk3 essential 88 keys cost only 399$ . compare to digital piano has weight key action, but it kind of boring 😴 sometime and not made for producing creative style of learning music like Midi Controller.

If you’re okay with semi-weighted keys, go for it! They are amazing as well! Mk3 88 keys is a very good option for the price! You do not necessarily need a DAW, audio interface, or studio monitors; but it’s sorta like a luxury to have at least studio monitors to listen to the sound of your MIDI! If you’re okay with listening it through your laptop speakers or headphones, that’s fine as well! Hope this helps!
