Sanjay C, this was excellent! And I truly mean that. I've seen advertisements and reviews on the Keystep Pro, but yours is the first that I now understand what it can do. You have a wonderful way of explaining things in a concise, succinct and informative fashion, and I greatly appreciate that. That being said, right now it is a little out of the range of what I can spend. But on a positive note I picked up the original Keystep a few months back, and it has only been out of the box once to connect to hardware (I've got a few things here), so at least I am inspired to get that out and learn to use it! Might be a stepping stone eventually to the Pro. Thank you!

Hey SanjayC, youve got some great videos and I wonder if you have come accross the following problems with the arturia. Although i only have the beatstep but the problem i have necountered as have many other arturia users, and that is, the encoder knobs are erratic in their control. I have have reset and tried all sorts of work arounds to no avail. It seems to occure after about a year or so of use.The main encoder knob is also a problem, as soon as you touch it it will either pan all the way to max volume or minimum level and its impossible to use, and goes the same for all other encoders. Its a little problem that is quiet off putting to not touch any midi controller at all ? would you happen to have a work around or solution, the forums are full of these critisizms against the arturia ?

Thanks for everything Sanjay. I'm unsubscribing/following you. In recent times I noticed that your videos were becoming more and more commercial, more about selling product and less instructional. I followed one of your links to but a pair of Beyerdynamic headphones from one of your other videos, definitely a bad call. While I recognize it's not your fault for their shortcomings, you did recommend them. Returns or exchanges of their product has been impossible. I got the headphones and they looked used, like someone else's return. Their policy is to not accept returns of "Personal items" (headphones, earbuds and such). Pro Audio Star has terrible reviews, their Facebook page is littered with them. In order to help support you and your channel, I used the link. It was a terrible mistake. I trusted your name (brand) and my trust was definitely misplaced. Good luck to you sir, in the future you may want to research those retailers that you endorse. The motivation for the music I love has suffered a serious set back. 😞

I will make sure I remove the link in that video. Also, I do not work with Beyerdynamic, they don't sponsor my videos, or send me free products. I purchase my own Beyerdynamic products and I stand behind my recommendation of them. Darren, this is what I do, I review products on KZbin, and give my opinion about them. And that's all it is - my opinion. If you don't like the products I recommend, then, you're right, it doesn't make sense to stay subscribed. Best wishes to you.

Nice vid, thanks. My only (and big) down is to realise that I can not launch/stop/rec from the Keystep Pro and/or from the sequencer (Live, Logic etc.) indistinctly. Let me explain this. If I launch the sequencer from the computer, yes, the Keystep follows apparently right. But if I then stop from the Keystep, only the Keystep stops and the sequencer keeps on running so I must stop the software on the computer by clicking. It doesn't happen if I launch both, computer and Keystep Pro, from my Komplete Kontrol S49. Then both react like it was supposed to be, and on time, of course, following the commands from the S49. I've tried from Logic to Live, Studio One and even LUNA, and it happens with all of them. To launch/stop both Keystep Pro and the computer software, I must do that from a third controller. Weird, isn't it?

You'll be fine with the Behringer, don't worry about it. I have seen good reviews from people with the 404. The sound qualities differences between interfaces are very difficult to hear. So once you have the sound in your mix, no one will be able to tell the difference :-D

What's the best 25-44 keyboard with minimal knobs for a 16 year old.
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Why don't you want more knobs :-) Well, if you want something affordable, look at the Arturia Keylab Essential and the Native Instruments A49. Usually keyboards come in 25, 49, and 61 key versions. So 49 is a good size for you.

Good video. Can I ask how you connect the 4 pieces of hardware you mention? I have a very similar set of instruments so am eager to know this before I consider a purchase. Also, do you use Ableton as master clock or the KSP?
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris. I routed them all through Ableton because I already have them connected into Ableton and didn't want to rewire it. The KeyStep sends each track on different MIDI channels, so its super easy to setup and just play. But you can also chain them with standard MIDI cables and set them on different channels - with no need for a computer or DAW.

I've been wanting this KeyStep Pro but I don't have hardware synths just virtual ones: pigments, V7 collection and Addictive Drums. I also have the original KeyStep. Not sure if the Pro would give me much that I can't get with Live and Cthulu. Any advice?

If you don't have hardware synths or drum machines, then I think you can do most (and more) of this with Ableton or any DAW.

One of key features of this product is the ability to sequence Midi CC automation, which is the "fifth channel" or White Color section of the board (totally left out of this review). For a comprehensive review and how the Control Channel functions see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWqlXqangMiYo9k @17:20

@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
I'm not really familiar with the Deluge. If you can record multiple tracks on it, then maybe you're already covered. Otherwise, the multiple tracks on the KeyStep Pro is a game changer!
@netztherapie57234 жыл бұрын
@@SanjayC thank you! Then i guess is stick to what i have. If you haven't you might wanna check out the deluge... its the center of my entire setup. You can edit every single note in a patern on its grid based display, super intuitive and can also function as a looper (midi/audio), sampler/groovebox and has a 2 osc synth engine as well... :) cheers
