Theres a sysex dump that turns your arp into a sequencer justice the mini. And yes there is one to make it go back to sequencer. There is also a pair for the mini. Once I found that out I finally bit the bullet and got a mini. Now I just wish they would make a dump to the micro the delay curve of the micro.

Question: I’m looking to buy either the microbrute or minibrute but I’m on the fence regarding which synth is best for my creative interests. These two models seem really close to one another in terms of sound and features. However they each have a unique feature which I’m curious if you could elaborate. One has a sequencer (micro) and the other has a nifty vibrato feature (mini). I like both of those features but it seems each is exclusive to the separate models. Is there a work around to get both of these functions on just one of these synths? Thank you!
@loopop4 жыл бұрын
Micro doesn’t haven vibrato? Sorry it’s been a while. Sequencer trumps but it’s your creative pursuit not mine. Have you seen the Minibrute2?
@doubledog58944 жыл бұрын
loopop - No, it doesn’t. It’s a dedicated pot and switch on the Mini. If Micro has it, it’s not obvious from the button/switch layout. That’s why I’m curious if maybe it’s hidden somewhere on the Micro? Mini doesn’t have a sequencer. However it does have a arpeggiator which seems to work much like the Micro’s sequencer. Actually it seems like the sequencer on Micro is simply a arpeggiator with a name change to “sequencer”. Difficult to gauge the difference through reviews but I’ll check out the Mini2. Thank you.

I have a question regarding your tip about using external oscillators: would it be possible to do this with a volca fm or volca keys? If so, how would that play out? With the microbrute oscillator turned down it would be like inputting notes on the minikeys of the brute instead of on the ribbon controller + plus being able to process the volca's sound with the filter/brute factor/etc? And when you turn up the oscillator of the brute? Would I now be able to play 3 notes at once, or would it be up to 4 (3 volca voices + 1 brute voice)? When you play a chord with the brute oscillator turned up, which note does the brute play?
@loopop5 жыл бұрын
You can play anything that accepts MIDI IN (e.g. Volca FM). The Brute will only play one note - depending on its high-low-last setting

Not sure if this has already been posted. In addition to the business card trick, there's also another way for the Microbrute to add a "hold" function: If you're not using the 3.5 mm Gate In & Gate Out-Jacks in the back of the Microbrute, simply connect them with a patch cable. Then hit a key and the MB should hold the note. That way you can also play different notes.. The Arp/Seq also still works in this configuration and if you're done, simply unplug one end of the patch cable and it stops playing. Maybe this helps :)
