How do you bounce back when a session starts off bad? First thing for me is always figuring out what's going wrong. In this case, I was piling way too many loops onto the same signal path-resulting in big, indistinct washes of fuzzy reverb. I took a couple of minutes, stripped out what wasn't working, and laid down some ambient pads instead. I'd love to know what you think of the results.

Generally I cry a bit and then play on my phjone.

I know that feeling. When everything turns into a mush of sound, it's time to step back. Stripping it down to the basics and laying down some ambient pads was a solid move. Sometimes less really is more.

Spellbindingly beautiful ambient. Like ZPZ said, that tape crackle is just so relaxing when we hit the final minutes.

Sometimes stripping back and figuring out what sucks is the best move. The ambient pads you laid down are hauntingly beautiful.

Thanks my friend - figuring out what sucks is my favorite part of the process (sometimes…)

Man, I totally get rough starts. Sometimes the best sessions come after pushing through that initial mess. Your end result here is mesmerizing.

You hit the nail on the head there, there's often a lot of ugliness before it all comes together!

To answer your question, I dont haha I start over again. This is lovely though, it really feels like you are gently corralling a herd of texture babies around. (btw i did get a mystery box from chase bliss wooo)

I always admire your dedication to quality over quality. You do far more in 2 minutes than I manage in 20. Can’t wait to see what you get in your mystery box! Is there a specific pedal that you’re hoping for?
@Warmsynths28 күн бұрын
@@the_washington_monument_am9714 I like how were both swimming around in the sea of ambiance though. Deep down that gen loss or lossy would be what I would really want given the choice, down in no small part to your videos!

Absolutely loving this! The way you blend the microgreak with all those pedals creates such a unique soundscape. The glitchy vibes from the LOSSY are sooo good!

MicroFreaks are "a magical place" I love em enough to get two. Great ambient track. I know what you mean about getting off to a rough start. If you don't do that sometimes, you are not pushing the boundaries of exploration far enough, (in my opinion) 🔥 I am excitedly waiting for my Glou-Glou Loupe pedal to arrive, for some ambient looping fun 🙂 Thanks for sharing your music, and best wishes for your continued success/fun with music 🎶☮

this is gorgeous!! as a pedal person i also must admit i will be taking inspiration from your physical setup here... for practical and aesthetic reasons!! i love your little friends (astronaut etc) and idea of using that clear book display for the lossy!! seems like a really nice spot to create. :)

I love that image! A nice little constellation of friends in space! It took me far to long too realise that I could just get a cheap and cheerful little book display to prop up pedals. It is indeed a lovely place to be, although I live across the road from work, so occasionally coworkers will take pictures of me hunched over this desk! Is there anywhere I can listen to your music?
