I think the minifreak is better for live performance and it’s much easier to program. Hydrasynth is way deeper and better for sound design, but doesn’t have a sequencer.

I have a fundamental misunderstanding that you might be able to help me with -- is there a "base sound" of the instrument so that I can begin my sound experiments from a common starting point, or is the process to explore the presets until I find something close and make a copy for further tweaking? hey thanks! If you press and hold the preset knob then it will create an init patch, which is just a single saw tooth wave I think :)

Loving this demo of the Mini! You've created some incredible patches. I plan on going into the hospital for a few months. I normally use my Freak with my MPC but I'm looking for something a bit smaller to take with me when I go to the hospital with my Mini for drums. Is it possible to sync both devices so that you can play them/trigger sequences on both instruments while using just the mini or just the brute? I hope this questions makes sense.
