It is important to note that shooting 45ACP in the MKVI is dangerous. The 45ACP is much hotter then the 455 Webley caliber the guns were made to shoot. If you have a Webley MKVI that has been converted to 45ACP do not shoot full power Loads in it.

The thing is that the webly CAN shoot a 45 cal, but the question is, why? You have a near 100 year old antique gun and will risk to fire a round that might damage the platform. Unless someone broke into your house and all you have around you as a 45 caliber and Webley, I wouldn't

Standard factory .45 ACP ammo has a 30% higher pressure than the .455 Mk.II ammunition. It is irresponsible and dangerous to fire .45 ACP in a Webley Mk. VI, let alone any of the earlier Mk. Webleys, which are not as strong as the Mk.VI.

I wish you had mentioned that .45 ACP is not good for a Webley - pretty much the same pressure level as a .455 proof load.

The revolver at 2:36 looks like it's cylinder has been blown apart. I have read that the cartridge for the Webley automatic, which was also .455, would chamber in the Webley revolver. But it was much more powerful than the cartridge for the revolver, causing the cylinder to blow apart. Could that have happened here?

No, it’s a cutaway for training and demo purposes, there’s no major deformation. 455 Webley automatic is extremely hard to find, most common cause of blown cylinders in Webleys is people shooting full pressure .45 ACP loads in shaved cylinders

I have heard it said that the Webley fired a bullet the size of an express train and had about the same effect when it hit anything.

Depends how much they've been abused. A private purchase gun in good condition is worth some money. A shagged out shaved war finish gun that Bubba's been using to hammer nails and test his handloads for 70 years, not so much.

There is an advantage to a shaved Webley....options. Handloaded 45 acp for it with moon clips makes for some speedy reloads. There's also some bloke putting out spacer moons so you can close the gap and shoot original .455 Webley if you want to play around with that. On ebay.
