I find it very inspiring how quickly you make placement decisions about the collage pieces, and the added paint at the end! Lovely work!

I think #3 is my favorite. There’s a calm in the eye of the storm. They are all great in different ways. Your color choices, as always, are superb.

#3, prize for most dramatic, #4, most whimsical, all good, strong pieces! You make the mixed media work so well... 😊

thanks so much! Since the majority of KZbinrs are obsessed with magazine transfers, store bought stencils and collage fodder, I opt to go a different direction! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻🙏🏻💖💖

Love watching your process and hearing your thoughts. Always amazed that you have very little, if any, hesitation in placing collage choices. Thank you, I learn so much from watching your videos.

Hi Paula! I never claim to be a collage expert, but maybe it is the time pressure of being filmed while doing artwork that speeds things up. 😉

My observation is that gloss seems to intensify color...it shifts light, around unlike mat finish. It comes across that way to me. I like it a lot. Your technique is marvelous & the finished pieces are beautiful. The aloe vera stem, aka magic wand," creates such a delicate line....happy you like it❤

I have to agree that prints #3 and #4 are the most complex and textured prints from this session, but all are quite interesting. Thank you, again, for the demonstration and sharing of your process and thoughts!

Hi Fulton, thank you for telling us which color you were using for each background as I love them all. There was so much to take in with all the textures, designed and beautiful results. Learning from you evertime. Sending you the best.🙏🏻❤️

The bubbles in your plate don’t seem to show up in your work. Is that luck or have you been able to flatten them? I have some on my plate. I’m always impressed by your colour combinations and I do like the shiny acrylic orange paint.

I may be amused by the shiny finish for now, I may get tired of it after awhile. Thanks for watching!

when you are blending your colors, what prevents them from smearing together. for example, you might have an yellow and then a red. you brayer over each but the yellow and red emain pretty distinct as opposed to it becoming orange. how is that possible. when i put the dots of paint down and i use the same brayer, the colors blend together and create a new color.

Hello Sue, if you want distinct areas of color you need to have an arsenal of many brayers, one for each color. Using the same brayer blends everything too much.
@suerothberg143
@suerothberg143 7 ай бұрын
thanks Fulton I completely understand. But what I’m noticing is that you don’t switch brayers. often use the same brayed when combining colors and that’s what why I was wondering how come the colors don’t smear together

@@suerothberg143 there are a lot of variables at work here, the viscosity of the paint, the opacity, and the amount of pressure exerted on the brayer. I don't press too hard like many artists do, but glide the brayer over the surface. It takes a bit of practice, but keep trying!

thank you so much I appreciate the reply. I’m very grateful for your videos as it got me completely obsessed with gel printing. I’ve gotten better and better at it. Thanks for your wonderful guidance, encouragement, and unique style of explaining your process.

Do you find the Soho paints have a longer open time than other brands you have used? I’m using Matisse flow and 220gm paper and find if I leave the paper down for anymore than 4-5 minutes it completely sticks to the gel plate. Any suggestions? Love all your work.👍

Have you tried conditioning your plate with baby oil? It prevents unnecessary stickiness. Please watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXe3ZHdpg8SMnLc

the shine feature comes from the apint or the paper? many of my prints become very opaque :/

it's not the paper, the Soho paint is fairly glossy. It\s a novelty for me, I may tire of the gloss after awhile.
