to be honest I have a problem calling it "paper", it is really microfiber, more of a fabric than a paper. I'll bet it stitches together nicely to make a quilt!

I like Somerset paper, it is very high quality, although it costs more and I can't use it for experimental stuff.

Hello Fulton. Another calming video from you, as I have breakfast. (Late breakfasts, oh the joy of being retired). This was an interesting demonstration. My wife Anne, looked Evolon up online. In A4 sheet size, it's available in: 58 Gsm, 98 Gsm 168 Gsm. And of course, in rolls 80 inches x 1 mile in size! 🙂 I wonder what the 168 Gsm., would perform like when monoprinted on? Is it possible that the multiple layers became diffused with each subsequent layer? I don't think I shall try it, unless some kind person gives me some. Nonetheless, I did enjoyed the demo, as always, thank you. Right, back to my Gelli plate. It's all go!

I suspect the thicker version would behave more like a paper, but it would still be super absorbent

Thanks! I always love watching your process 👍. I want to add that starting a print with dark paint, tones the light layers down. Golden acrylics have more pigment, they might show better when used on dark hues.

My issue is with the excessive absorbency of the microfiber, not the performance of the paint. Had I done the same procedure on real paper the outcome would be different.

this material sounds like lutrador, also nonwoven synthetic material.

I liked the fabric like qualities of the paper, quite excited to see a new paper,seems like it would suit a lot of printing techniques and maybe work with oil based monoprints and oil based block prints. I'm definitely going to have to source some and try it out. Your resulting prints were great. ❤ satisfying scissor crunch on the last one, could have cut a mount board to clean up the edge and give the print breathing space that way. Though cutting mounting boards is whole other ball game. 😅
