This video is pretty old now, however still very useful! I was looking for an overview for someone already familiar with wireless technology, but who is new to this platform. This series fit the bill perfectly!

HI, does the virtual ip must be different to the AP IP. because i put the same ip and it seems like other AP cannot join the cluster.
@hermanrobers3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the virtual IP should be unique and not shared with any of the IPs in the cluster. When using DHCP for IP address assignment, make sure the virtual IP is also out of your DHCP scope to avoid IP conflicts. The VC will have 2 IP addresses, it's own (through DHCP) and the VC IP (from the configuration).

@@hermanrobers Thank you! I understand it wrongly as i thought the AP that i wanted to make as VC should be configured the same IP for the VC IP with its own IP. Fyi, i have few aps AP515 all the same version 8.6.0. im trying to make a cluster. Im using static IP for AP management, will it be an issue ? Whats your suggestion on what work best.

@@amirminhat1854 Recommended is to use DHCP for the APs, but if you have all APs configured with a unique static IP address (and another free IP for the VC), that should just work. Static IPs are more work and sensitive to errors, and if you want to move the APs to another subnet you will need to touch each of them. DHCP takes care of issuing a unique IP per device and it is 'zero-touch'.

Should you change the default passwords
@hermanrobers2 жыл бұрын
Yes, of course you should change the default password. The current versions of Instant will even require you to do so. In the screen at timestamp 2:32 you can change the admin password.
