Found a 2016 arugula seed packet in my seed drower. Added wet soil to a new pot and added the seeds on top without soil on top and sprayed them with water. Next morning they sprouted. Nature is awesome!

Alternately, I got a growkit that says you need to cover the seeds sprinkled on the grow mat in the plastic container in a thick tea towel, avoiding all light for the first 4-7 days... seems to be the complete opposite from both of the above %!

Followed this video minus the seed tray (Just spread them out in a nursery pot). They sprouted in 2 days; it's now the end of the 2nd day and they're the size of yours when transplanting. 😳 This morning they looked like yours when you removed the greenhouse lid. It seems too early to move them? 😬

I enjoy your videos, thank you! Straightforward, simple, relaxing and informative! Mine just sprouted in under 48 hours! Preparing to transplant in a few weeks. I have no experience with grow lights. Can these stay indoors from seed to harvest with grow light you think? How about without grow light, sitting by an east-facing window (moderate all-day light; no direct sun)? I worry about outdoor bugs and whatnot. My chard seedlings, kept outdoors, already have visible spots on them. Probably fungus? Thoughts on fungicide/pesticides? Thank you! ❤️
@Elorza444 жыл бұрын
mrl gutierrez Thank you so much for watching. I think any plants under a grow light indoors would do pretty well from seed to harvest. Without a grow light they would probably prefer direct sunlight through a window. I use neem oil on a lot of my outdoor plants, it seems to keep the insects and fungus away for the most part. You can purchase neem oil at most stores that provide gardening equipment. Thank you again for watching and your kind words!

@nilzalessa97984 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video! Question: how can I harvest so it will continue to grow new leaves? 🙏 thank you!
@Elorza444 жыл бұрын
nilza lessa Thank you so much for watching. I harvest (trim off) young leaves and usually the plant will continue to grow new leaves for a good couple weeks until it goes into seed. The more you trim and harvest the leaves the more you will get out of your plant. When going into seed it will sprout a tall flower spike and this is when harvest is done for that plant. I hope this helps, this is how I go about with my arugula plants!
@yeoshow19844 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I started mine under a grow light and didn't really know what to do with them after that. They ended up being very leggy with super tiny leaves before going to flower. Started over this time and will transplant directly into the soil. Hard to beat what Mother Nature provides.

Thanks for the info! Do you think it's still doable to bring back super long, leggy arugula plants? They're probably about 3 weeks old, 4 inches long from the soil, and still only have one set of small leaves. They unfortunately got looked over due to having hundreds of other plant seedlings, but I didn't want to toss them out if they're still able to be saved. Welcoming recommendations from Soleil or viewers. Thanks in advance!

Its better to moist the soil before transplanting. And don't think your seedlings were getting enough lighting. And its better to moist the seedlings before transplant so the soil won't break when moving. And not sure what Marcle fertilizer you used with soil. If is Organic then it won't break down fast.
