Polavaram Project, is an underconstruction multi-purpose irrigation project on the Godavari River in the West Godavari District and East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. The project has been accorded national project status by the Union Government of India.

Expenditure of project hiked not only due to inflation, but the main reason is due to "LAND ACQUISITION, REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT ACT, 2013". With this Act Government should provide higher compensation than it was supposed to pay in 2004 and rehabilitation to all the affected families.

Very good explanation about POLAVARAM project, previously we dont know what is caffer dam, retain walls rt. and lt. canals deapth of the river Godavari etc., I heared Sir Ardhar Cotton sab proposed it.
