"I've heard stories that the other nations mock our flag, saying that it is not fierce, nor brings courage to the front. And, in all truth, I don't blame them. They really had chosen good symbols to represent them. The Khadorans chose as a symbol the upside view of their fortress, a place (some say) so well defended that it would take years to fall if under siege, showing their resilience against adversity. Our southern cousins in the Protectorate had chosen the Menofix as theirs, showing their faith and obedience to the commandments to the Creator of Man. Cryx chose the stylised form of Toruk, all bone and no flesh, to show that, to him, we all are food to him. Even the Ordics had chosen a fierce symbol: the broken sword of their king, to tell that the will fight even against overwhelming odds, for even a broken blade has a sharp edge. We Cygnarans, on the other hand, chose what? The Cygnus. A gold swan in a field of blue. A fu@#&%$ swan! And you look a swan, what do you see? It is not a bird of prey, for does not have sharp claws nor vicious beak. In fact, it only eats bugs and kelp. Its flight is not fast. In fact, is almost leisurely that a swan takes flight. It does not makes nests in the top of the trees, but at the border of rivers. And a swan even swiming is no threatening, looking like a demure lady going for a stroll with its neck bended in such a gentle fashion. And a swan does not give a sharp screech like an eagle, nor sings beautifully like a singing bird, but looks more like a broken horn that is almost comic to hear. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where we get them by the balls. The swan is in fact, the only bird capable of flying in a storm. Its lazy flight is not fast, but is stable, allowing to withstand the fiercest gale. When lightning strikes trees and burns forests, the swan is safe at the riverside. And its screech is so loud that can be heard, even amidst thunder, calling for its chicks and guiding them to a safe place. So, let them mock our flag, for when the storm hits.... The mightiest fortresses fall... The purest faith shatters... The deepest hunger recoils.... The most unyielding determination is broken... ONLY OUR SWAN ENDURES, CALMLY FLYING AMIDST THE HAIL, SAFE FROM LIGHTNING, ITS CALL LOUDER THEN THUNDER!"
