And she did just that! I know there are many other ways she could’ve played this but she chose this and it’s not completely wrong. You have to understand that she’s a weak person but she’s trying her best! She’s standing up for Saad and that’s definitely an improvement

Yes, it's kinda wrong when Saad stops her but Saad is NOT one of those husbands who doubt their wives unnecessarily and stop them from doing job RATHER he stopped her because he wants to take all the load on himself and doesn't want Maheer to take trouble. If Maheer has more focus on building her career rather than meeting Areeb and then if she convinces Saad then he will not stop her.
