Sabelenka plays every point like it's the championship point for the trophy 🏆! She expels so much energy no wonder she peters out before the end of the competition.

Agreed. Her style of play takes a huge toll on her stamina. No wonder she has an awful record in 3 set matches.

I'm glad to see Hartono continuing to improve. She looks a little quicker. Hartono has exceptional groundstrokes, especially her forehand. She needs a more aggressive kick serve on her 2nd serve, without sacrificing consistency, to help setup her big forehand. It's imperative that she holds serve against big hitters like Sabelenka. Hartono's forehand is elite level.

Although her level has dropped considerably from last year, I believe she would've gone a step further from her semifinal appearance at Wimbledon. Such a shame she isn't allowed to compete this year.

Hartono is from the land of brilliant badminton players. One sometimes wonders why we do not see outstanding tennis players from Indonesia and other top badminton countries. Badminton requires a level of athleticism, fast reflexes, precision and stamina no less than that of tennis

Yayuk Basuki, a world top 20-er and top 10 doubles player, and Lita Liem Sugiarto in the 1970s. Yayuk a natural talent who easily ranked in the top 10 as a grass court player with a stellar record at Wimbledon.

@@brucee6123 Not enough, one thinks. In fact, Asia as a whole lags badly, even China and Japan. One reason, of course, is money. Setting up and maintaining the facilities costs a lot. Unless young people can see some sort of career they are unlikely to invest the time and effort required to develop high-level skills in the game

@@riazhassan6570 tennis a costly sport and one that, unlike badminton, did not provide many opportunities to show national pride. Yayuk was the daughter of a policeman and lived next to a court in the police housing compound; by age 10 she was already representing her home province in National Games. There was also Angie Widjaja who won the Wimbledon and French Open juniors

I think she s born in Holland so full Dutch citizen even though she has an Indonesian family name ..in Jakarta it s difficult to book a tenniscourt which is indoors as the outdoors is heavy polluted.

Another opponent gets steamrolled and overpowered by Sabalenka on grass. She made zero DFs today, a huge improvement from her previous round match. Her shotmaking has been better than ever before, never seen her use dropshots like that to win points.
