Plug in the HDMI. Plug in the UCB C. Then hit control F8 to toggle through the setup options.

To make it split screen for all I did was go to system settings, go to system, click display, and you should see a box in the middle of your screen at the bottom right of the box click “duplicate these displays” then “extend these displays” and you now have 2 monitors. If it doesn’t work try disconnecting and reconnecting the portable display.

@@normaa3930 if you turn off your device or disconnect your second screen you may need to do these steps again each time you leave it idle or off for too long. It depends on your setup though.

This monitor allows me to have the second screen right next to my laptop (Surface 8). The time it saves in copying and pasting, keeping track of emails while conducting a class and anything else a second monitor is good for is significant. I wanted this smaller monitor as it is the same size as the laptop and fits all of my travel bags.

The monitor comes with 3 different connection cables - a USB-C/USB-C cable, a USB-A/USB-C cable, and a HDMI/mini HDMI cable.

For some reason my monitor won't turn on when I plug it in with just the USB-C cable to my laptop like it's supposed to. It works if I use the hdmi and power cable, but it's supposed to work with just the USB-C, any suggestions?

Mine is the same. It is because your laptop does not have enough power to support the monitor with usb-c to usb-c only. You have to have the power from the wall plug. It would have been great to only have the one cord instead ot the hdmi and power cord. But thats what I found out
