This is great advice! Especially, the points about listening and asking questions. There is a natural tendency, particularly in we males, to listen mainly to our own thoughts bouncing around inside our head, even as someone is talking to us. Women like to communicate, and not listening is just another form of control. In other words, the man is controlling whether the message is actually getting through or not. And in some ways, it's like the Silent Treatment, because the woman doesn't know what the man is really thinking, even as he nods his head.

Can we hear both male and female stories at the same time? Why is the female experience the only acceptable experience? Are there problems men have? Are those problems worth discussing?

I think you missed the whole point. It’s talking about how you can be a better ally. Sharing your story is an extra step, but she is saying her opinion on how you can support women.

@@sathyabamanatarajan230 I'm not interested in being anyone's "ally"; for one thing, I don't recognize the existence of an enemy on this subject, for another, I simply revile the pretense of collective identity. This woman isn't speaking to me, she's speaking to her her projection of who I am because I'm male, how could she possibly expect me to hear anything she has to say given the fact that she isn't speaking to me?
