1:00 - 1:02 “A sanctuary burns while you play god.” As a Bionicle Nerd I wanna say I love this scene. Matoro has remained one of my favorite Bionicle characters/characters in fiction and this scene right here illustrates why. It’s not canon at all, but seeing Matoro, a mere translator for the Ko-Matorans, stand towards the Karadas Dragon with his sword towards the beast is simply inspirational. His fellow Toa Inika aren’t sure what to do in the face of such a monster, yet Matoro stands ready. Not out of self grandeur or defense, but defiance. Matoro is willing to face the dragon to save his home, his creator Mata Nui, and that in context with the rest of his story is beautiful to me.

I was 8 years old when Bionicle came out. Now I'm in my 30's and read the books to my cats at night. I can tell they're listening closely, because when I finished Legends #5, they looked at me like "WHAT just happened, and WHAT HAPPENS NEXT, DAD?!" Writing so epic that kids, adults, and felines can all appreciate it!

Thank you! Glad you liked it and noticed those details! I tried matching the video, beat and lyrics here and there, where I could, to give it a more contoured meaning. For example, when Essenger screams “far”, the Ignika zooms past the camera; or in the second verse, when it says “Is there a cure?”, and it shows the Ignika falling 1:15; or when Takadox creeps out when the song goes “And the monster’s crawling out” 1:19. Again, it’s filled with little details like these and you don’t know how happy I am that people notice them!

That new Bionicle that came in 2015, I don’t want to say that it sucked. Instead that new Bionicle it was just lazy. And seeing how it shortly ended after the year after that (2016), that was a major disappointment. But anyway all I have to say is that the Bionicle in 2015 was just Lazy. And I wished they did better with it.
