Holy shit your pronounciation is better than any of the foreigners from my workplace in Finland. With a little practice you'd sound like a native!

Great pronounciation as always. Good job. When I had singing lessons they talked about location where you imagine sound is formed. The open sounds Y, Ö and Ä are placed in front of lips/mouth and I, O and A are inside mouth and are less open sounds while they share same base sound.

My favourite is "Appilan pappilan apupapin papupata pankolla kiehuu ja porisee" because saying "apupapin papupata" quickly is more like "apupapipapupata" which is fun to say.

@Your_L0cl_1diot8 күн бұрын
7:18 It actually means mechanical pencil. A pencil is "lyijykynä", and a marker/pen/pencil would be just "kynä". 10:10 reminder that o and ö are different letters (ö should appear on english phones if you press o for a long time(?)) 12:59 The full word is "Lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas", but they removed "moottori" for some reason. It means Aircraft Jet Turbine Engine Auxiliary Mechanic NCO Apprentice, and is the longest word in finnish. Remember that learning new languages is hard, especially Finnish with it's pronounciation, so don't be too hard on your self!
@MikkoRantalainen8 күн бұрын
16:05 The word is incorrectly split into two lines in random position. The correct syllable break position would be "lentokonesuihkuturbiini-apumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas". She explained this one a bit poorly, the literal translation would be "aeroplane jet turbine assistant mechanic, non-commissioned officer in training".

'Lyijytäytekynä' is mechanical pencil. Practicing different vowel pairs might help. Keeping in mind that there's vowel harmony: "Non-compound word can only contain front vowels ä, ö, y or back vowels a, o, u. The vowels e and i can mix with all other vowels." When those come naturally, add consonant in front or after or both. Then it's pretty much just knowing the hyphenation rules and you can read and write Finnish without understanding any of it.
@VannyVanesca2 күн бұрын
Most people call Pencil just "lyijäri" or "kynä", at most lyijykynä but almost never the whole word.

I don't speak korean but I can actually hear when they speak it, that if I would start to study the language, it might be quite easy to learn. There are lots of similarities with the pronounciation. It's the same with japanese. I have heard that finnish can sound like japanese to foreigners who don't speak none of these. BTW your finnish pronounciation gets better and better all the time. Can't you make a video where you only speak finnish someday, pleace? 😊❤

lyijy-täyte-kynä means lead filled pencil. Also you can think of letter j as 'y' in English, soft always. Lento-kone-suihku-turbiini-apu-mekaanikko-ali-upseeri-oppilas literally means flight machine jet turbine assist mechanic sub officer student.

By KZbin videos it feels Finnish is easier to Asians than people speaking indoeuropean languages. I guess there is some common from our language originally coming from Urals/Siberia 🤔
@Songfugel13 күн бұрын
Almost, our language doesn't come from there, but those locations were indeed along the path and about the area where the mass migration split up (due to natural barriers) into different directions over 25k years ago. Most other Europeans and Asians are part of different and later mass migrations, which is why they differ so much from those, like the people currently living in those regions you mentioned (the Slavic people settled in those areas much later)
