These summary mind maps are proving to be an awesome way to go through key content in each chapter...! I'm doing the same for my classes, which was where I got the inspiration from when planning to make this video :) Glad to hear the videos are helping you! And wow, that dedication!!! I'm impressed :D All the best with your revision and thanks for watching!

Honestly trying to do this during quarantine has made me not understand at all, so thank you for making it so easy to get. I did chuckle though when you said that i would've done some of it in fieldwork... rip my PAG work corona.
@BioRach4 жыл бұрын
Haha glad it helped! Yes it can be hard to self-teach a lot of this stuff so glad you found the videos helpful :) you'll do some fieldwork at some point don't worry. Technically you can grab a tape measure and something that's like a loop or sorts as a quadrat and do some sampling in your garden if you've got one XD

Just to clarify, at 14:41 isn't the sampling method described an interrupted belt transect - as opposed to a line transect?
@BioRach5 жыл бұрын
As far as I'm aware, you only need to learn about random sampling and systematic sampling using a line/belt transect. I guess the term "interrupted belt transect" seems to be describing the same thing...?
@d2012dd5 жыл бұрын
@@BioRach I thought that a line transect is when only species touching the tape measure are recorded, whereas a belt transect is when a quadrat is used adjacent to the tape (e.g. for %cover). It's a minor detail nonetheless.
@jeffo85205 жыл бұрын
@@d2012dd yeah you're right.
@anon99 ай бұрын
@@BioRachan interrupted belt transect is when you place quadrats on the line at intervals, to save time, instead of right next to each other.

it isn't a line transect at 14:50 it should be a belt transect.

Great vid 👍 - btw how much of this d’you think would be relevant to AQA? Thanks anyway :)
@BioRach5 жыл бұрын
Sorry I'm not sure. Personally not familiar with the AQA spec, but the science itself should be the same! I'd imagine the differences would mainly be the level of detail and question types, but better check with your textbook or ask your teachers to know for sure :) Thanks for watching!

hi, i don’t think you have to learn the simpson index equation, i think it is provided. please can you confirm this?
@BioRach5 жыл бұрын
You're correct, you don't have to memorise the equation. But you do have to learn what the symbols mean, which is what a lot of people struggle with...! As long as you learn the symbols' meanings, then you'll be fine :)
