I'll add a few other reasons: Food: Living in an environment with a diversity of species provides people with all kinds of different food. We would get very bored if we could only eat one kind of fruit all the time. And we probably wouldn't be that well nourished. Aesthetics: looking at nature and all of the beautiful animals makes peoples lives more enjoyable. Imagine we could only grow one kind of flower in our garden. Life would be boring. Medicine: a vast majority of the medicine we use to treat illness and cure disease originates in nature. Don't get confused, synthetic compounds are usually created to mimic naturally occurring compounds. And the vast diversity of animals and plants provides humans with nearly unlimited research tools. Time: when we lose a species, we lost something that took millions of years to evolve. Add your reasons.

The trees, plants, all kinds of animals of all sizes and all kinds of microbes quite literally form the biological life support system. This biological life support system is an intricate web of biodiversity. Humans do not and cannot live in isolation from this web. I saw a program on terraforming Mars where some scientists discussed that to colonise a new planet permanently, we cannot just go there and live in isolation! We need to take our biological life support system with us. And that means we have to terraform the planet and then take all kinds of trees, plants, animals and microbes with us. They are our life support system. Right now, we Humans are hurting biodiversity in so many ways without the realisation that it's our life support system.

I discovered that some species are depending on one another, and that the loss of a keystone species can have an impact on the dependent species as well. This demonstrates the need of respecting the local wildlife. Biodiversity is the range of life that exists on Earth, and each species contributes to the environment in a unique way. Each of us contributes to the environment from which we all benefit, so when one species disappears, it affects us all. The ecology is built on the foundation of each and every one of us.

In this video, I could realize the importance of biodiversity. Before, watching this video, I perceived the issue of biodiversity, but I didn't know completely that biodiversity influences all the creatures living on earth, and evenly humans!! And, the most impressive part in this video is " Several species and organisms are intricately bound together, so if on species disappears, the ecosystem will not collapse immediately but it will be the beginning of weakening the foundation of the entire system. Moreover, learning that biodiversity is important for humans and all living things on Earth has also made us feel that we must strive for the preservation of biodiversity.

Biodiversity is a term used to describe the enormous variety of life on Earth. It can be used more specifically to refer to all of the species in one region or ecosystem. Biodiversity refers to every living thing, including plants, bacteria, animals, and humans.Biodiversity is the variability among living organisms from all sources, including terrestrial, marine, and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part; this includes diversity within species, between species, and of ecosystems.

This video is very informative and entertaining to watch. I learned from this video that our ecosystems are vulnerable to collapse. Organisms need other organisms to live, organisms in biodiversity depend on each other or the species are interconnected that's why when one is removed it can have bad effects on the other organisms. But that's not true in every case, if biodiversity is rich and healthy, that one species gap won't cause it to unravel, the biodiversity will stay resilient and it can recover from change. Biodiversity can be stronger if there are plenty of organisms in it. For us to avoid damaging biodiversity, we should clean and protect our biodiversity. Biodiversity plays a huge role in human survival because it supplies our needs and keeps the planet working and helps the planet flow its necessities to distribute in the ecosystem for the life forms living on it. Humans do not and cannot live in isolation from this web. This video helped me realize that everything or everyone has their purpose. We cannot survive on our own. We still need to depend on other people just like in biodiversity, organisms depend on each other to survive. Artificial selection is the identification by humans of desirable traits in plants and animals, and the steps taken to enhance and perpetuate those traits in future generations. Artificial selection works the same way as natural selection, except that with natural selection it is nature, not human interference, that makes these decisions.

Every single being has its purpose. Removing one element can cause change but it isn't really applicable to all, it depends with its complexity and density. It also depends on the relationship of a bigger group such as depending on it for survival. In conclusion, one should not be too greedy when "cutting down too many links".

This blog help me learn and understand the meaning of biodiversity and its importance. Biodiversity pertains to the variety of life and it is seen in the number of species in an ecosystem. with the help of this blog, l realize that no matter how small the organism is, somehow it has its purpose. Every organism may different from each other in terms of characteristics but they have their one similarities. That is to live and fulfill their own roles and purpose as a part of this world. Nowdays, we, humans, one of the factors that causes their extinction. I realize that we must take an action in order to protect our biodiversity. Now is the time to set things right.

This video taught me that our ecosystems are vulnerable to collapsing. Because species are interdependent on one another or need one another to survive, when one is removed, it may have negative repercussions on the remaining species. This is true of all living things. That isn't always the case, though; in certain cases, a species gap won't cause the biodiversity to collapse; instead, it will remain resilient and be able to bounce back from change. If there are many different types of species, then biodiversity can be stronger. We should maintain and safeguard our biodiversity in order to prevent damage.

I learned from this video that our ecosystems are susceptible to disintegrating. When one species is eliminated, it could have a detrimental impact on the other species since species depend on one another or need one another to thrive. All living things share this trait. However, that isn't always the case; in other instances, a species gap won't result in the biodiversity collapsing, but rather remaining resilient and being able to adapt to change. Biodiversity can be stronger if there are many diverse species. To avoid harm, we should protect and preserve our biodiversity.

The film taught me that biodiversity is essential to the future of the planet because if one component were to be lost, there is a chance that the entire system would be affected. This reaches a point where human well-being is contingent on and exposed to changes in biodiversity. The genetic, ecological, and system biodiversity is more robust to catastrophic environmental changes the more interconnected they are. Thus, each component of biodiversity has equal importance and must be preserved as much as possible.
@STREETLOWKEY32003 жыл бұрын
According to our books and to our modular learning kit, biodiversity refers to all the wildlife and plant life that is around us, all over the world. It refers to the plentitude of flora and fauna around the planet earth, microorganisms included. Biodiversity is incredibly essential to the planet, as it is what maintains the balance of ecological systems on the earth. Artificial selection is the intentional breeding of plants or animals. It means the same thing as selective breeding and is an ancient method of genetic engineering. Selective breeding is a technique used when breeding domesticated animals, such as dogs, pigeons or cattle. Your blog is great and you described it well. ❤️❤️👍

This same logic can easily be extrapolated to defend multiculturalism and reasons to resist the imposition of a lingua franca, as well as a dominant political ideology. In place of a gene pool you have a cultural/linguistic pool, in place of the survival of the individual as consequence, we find the survival of ideas.

No... it's not analogous because WE are the one who make the choices. We are not sitting there being passive letting nature decide our fate.

Mahalaga ang bahaging ginagampanan ng biodiversity sa pagpapatuloy ng buhay sa mundo. Ang biodiversity, ayon sa United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, ay tumutukoy sa “variability among living organisms from all sources, including, 'inter alia', terrestrial, marine, and other aquatic ecosystems, and the ecological complexes of which they are part: this includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems". Throughout this video, I discovered that species diversity serves as the habitat for all living organisms, and I already understand that all creatures require the presence of other organisms in order to survive for the greater the biodiversity and the healthier the ecosystem. I recognize that every creature, no matter how little, has a significance. Every creature differs in terms of attributes, yet they all share one thing in common - t hat is, to live and fulfill their respective duties and purposes as part of this world. We, as humans are now one of the reasons causing their extinction. I recognize that we must take action to preserve our biodiversity.

I learned what is biodiversity which is the different variety of species that includes Humans, Animals, Plants, Fungi and other living organisms and why is it important to our eco-system as a whole. We all need one another for each species to live

Biodiversity is one of the most valuable and vital resources we have. We tend to think of it as something that is just beautiful to look at and enjoy spending time in, but it is so much more. Our whole support structure for human and animal existence would collapse in the absence of biodiversity. Nature provides us with food and clean water, as well as many medications, and helps to minimize flooding and other adverse weather consequences. Natural ecosystems give so much for us; they are actually essential to life on Earth.

The video is very informative. It explains how things in the world are linked together. One loss can have a great impact not just on that ecosystem, but also in other places.

Also, bear in mind with humility (not human hubris) that other species do not need us, we're the "needy" ones that need them. We are the "measure of all things."

According to the video, the term "biodiversity" describes the wide range of organisms on Earth. It may also be used to describe all the species found in a specific area or environment. All living forms, including plants, microbes, animals, and people, are included in the term "biodiversity." The term "biodiversity" refers to the variety of living things found across the world, especially in terrestrial, marine, and other aquatic environments, as well as the ecological communities they are a part of. This includes the diversity within and between species as well as within ecosystems.

Biodiversity is important for sustaining life on earth because it prevents any one species from throwing the balance of nature out of order. This video demonstrates the connection between the ecosystem, species, and genetic diversity. The greater and denser the biodiversity is, the more these three are growing. For instance, if people neglect to care for the habitats of various species and instead destroy them, these creatures will depart and the food chain and system for maintaining their habitats will be irreparably damaged. Because of this, it is important to preserve these animals' habitats so that the ecosystem can develop.

The ecosystem, species, and genetics are connected to each other and form the web of biodiversity that is very important to the survival of every living organism here on earth. If we learned to be responsible human being who doesn't take advantage of the ecosystem and everything in this world, every life on this earth whether big or small can be preserve. As we learn every day, may the knowledge that we gain today be beneficial to every living organism and also to this world.

In this video, I learned that biodiversity serves as all living things' habitat. I also learned that all living things depend on other living things in order to survive. The more plant, insect, and animal species there are in a given area, the higher the biodiversity and the healthier the ecosystem. As a result, we should protect and preserve our biodiversity.
