This was so confusing to me when my teacher made us do it during class but after your video I realize it was actually so simple. Thank you so much, you truly helped me!!

this is the most useful video on simple dilutions imo, thank you

Hey!! The volume of the serial dilution ten fold changed from 10 cm cubed to 9 cm cubed in each test tube, correct?

can i use the equation in serial as well? as i find that easier

Does the quantity of the initial solution decrease by sharing the solution in order for other ones to form?

Hi, can we take 5 cm^3 soln and 5cm^3 water for serial dilution or does the soln needs to be less than water? I really hope you notice this
@priyalshah85222 жыл бұрын
thank you so much! In case the original stock solution was 40 cm^3 (for serial) with 10% concentration, how much of it would we use to make it to 1%? And what would be the volume of water used?
@Lking1232 жыл бұрын
Starting with 40 cm^3 (for serial) with 10% concentration, if doing serial dilution you would simply remove 1cm3 from the original stock solution, adding it with the second. Then adding 39 cm^3 of water (diluent) to the solution. Allowing you to have a 1% concentration, so in this case it only took one dilution.

how do you get like 10 cm^3 of each successive solution when doing a serial dilution. like when diluting by a factor of 10 and have each successive beaker with a volume of 10cm^ as what stays in it

In serial dilution , is it crucial to the experiment that the volume of water is greater than volume of the starting solution?
@animationbooth_282 жыл бұрын
Let me know if you get any answers cuz I have the same question as well
@pamisareanjane70193 жыл бұрын
Hello, I have a question: Do you know how to find the no. of dilution, if both initial and final concentration and the volumes (initial and final) were given? I hope you notice this and answer. Thank you so much!
@JoPhillipsBiology3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I’m not sure what you mean by the number of dilution? If you mean how many times has the initial solution been diluted to get to the final solution, it would depend what type of dilution you were doing and what dilution factor was being used.
