Just got this link off a friend. As high as you can go is one of my least favourite Chameleons songs. This is a breath of fresh air. Great version. Love the video too. Well done. Love it! Dave Fielding and Ooshka.xx

Wow, what a great start to my morning, Dave. Thanks so much!! Yes, but this was never one of my faves either, but it's one of the few Chameleons songs I can actually sing and play at the same time :) My mate, also Dave, did the bass and lead guitars which really brought the whole thing to life. What a total treat to know you even listened, let alone like it. Massive love to you and Ooshka, from me and Nika XX

This begs the question, which are your favourite Chameleons songs, Dave? :)

@@robinbowes I Love The Chameleons full stop. I co wrote and played on every track ever recorded. I have heard several covers and I liked the take on their view on our music. Obviously Script of the bridge is a classic. I love the two acoustic albums we did and Why call it anything is probably the most underrated... Strange Times was ok . The great stuff is great but there are several not so great tracks on there. Childhood. Time. (The end of time is sound)... I like a lot of the instrumentals we did. Music speaks louder than words. I find a lot of the Burgess lyrics very dubious. " The fragrance of Children everwhere"... Don't believe in CND... could go on and on but WTF? " How did Jesus feel on the cross? Pissed Off! " wow! I have heard covers that I prefer to the origional. As high as you can go by Andy Mcquade... Swamp thing by 'Eskimo's in Egypt' etc etc. Tears by John Auger... Brilliant! Hope you are well. Stay safe. All lives Matter. Me and Ooshka. Xx

@@davidfielding7746 I fucking love the internet sometimes. As a long-term fan, and guitarist, it's great to be able to interact with the members of one of my all-time favourite bands. I wore a Chameleons t-shirt to a Robin Trower gig in Holmfirth and the guy on the door tapped my stomach and said "what's all this?" - it was John! I replied "Oh, just some shit band I liked as a kid", and smiled at him. We hugged. It was a special moment. I have many favourite Chameleons songs, I'm not sure I could rank them - apart from anything else, my opinion changes depending on my mood. I've always loved "Perfumed Garden" from the 2nd Peel session, and and I much prefer it to "Perfume Garden" on WDAMB. Talking of instrumentals, Prisoners Of The Sun is a long-time favourite. I remember first hearing it on the B-side of the Up The Down Escalator 12" single in Red Rhino Records in York - I was mesmerised. D'you know, in all my years of listening to The Chameleons, I've never tried to play much of it because I can never really figure out what you're playing! I should give it a go some time - I love the sounds and textures you achieve. Ever given guitar lessons? :) Stay safe yourself, Dave. Peace.
