Pak army is punjabi dominated , give one demography even a hint of domination and they would most likely take it. India is blessed with a society that is not polarized, it took RSS 60+ years to collect enough Hindus for an electoral victory. Can't say the reason our army is non political presently is only due to the system set up by the founders that is Jawaharlal Nehru, B R Ambedkar among many others so it's necessary that those who criticize Nehru for the many mistakes he committed shouldn't that he is also a reason that we are democratic today other than the emergency we have never had a period of dictatorship

In fact if you read Dr Ambedkar book he wrote in early 50s, you will find that Nehru sometimes acted against its soul and the biggest example is article 370 which gives special status to kashmir which was not needed at all but still nehru did that just to satisfy the ego of his friend Andullah. It would be good for India if Imran khan is removed. That way, till date, no prime minister in Pakistan would have completed 5 years in office. Political chaos in our neigbouring enemy country is a good thing for India. That's because Pakistan will never be able to work efficiently towards improving its economy since they'll be entangled in political plans. Even better would be if Pakistan army initiates a military coup in Pakistan. Its imperative that Pakistan has a weak democracy so that it cannot grow as fast as India. We're only safer when our hostile neighbours are significantly worse off.

Listening your reports on Pakistan,I realized how little I know about Pakistan's colorful,but intriguing history. It almost sounds like palace history-the conspiracies, coups ,the assassinations, the mullahs,masjid, military and muhajirs, who are the pariahs of Pakistani society. It is a news for me that Ayub Khan was a coward ( a bhagoda in Rangoon war),for which he was punisged.2) The genealogy of Mirza , the great-grand-son of Mir Zafar is another interesting tit-bit. In spite of disclaimer by Sekhar, Mir Zafar has become synonymous with traitors, though others like Vibhishan and Quisling also share the gallery of infamous. When tge Pakistani general could rug the elections and get 90%votes in their favor,why have they not chosen Presidential type of governance ,which could have given them lasting constitutional power. The best ever thing,which happened in Indian journalism,is Sekhar and his Print. Sekhar has been able to create a niche in mass communication,which is vitiated and filled with by every kind of evils and impurities possible, like innuendo, blame-game, fake news,character assassinations, bias and what not. So much of garbage is being fed by the media to viewers that the breed of journalists championing the honest and impartial view with ethical standards has almost disappeared. Sekhar is like Prahlad in the kingdom of demons or raakshasas ruled by Hiranyakashipu, though steering himself clear of Left,centre right and not being a mental slave to any ideology.

Several times in the past I have written in Comments under CTS requesting you to do an episode and analysis of violence in Bengal politics. There is a culture of violence in Bengal politics, definitely from 1969, when Marxists shared power with Bangla Congress of Ajoy Mukherjee. Some may trace it back to 1905, when Lord Curzon decided to partition Bengal. The violence that occurred immediately after the election to Legislature, the violence in Birbhum, just to name two. There is also frequent violence against the Hindus in Bangladesh, a country you praise often. Culturally WB and Bangladesh are not very different. I am afraid, this is a subject you have been studiously avoiding. Like me, many viewers have written. You don't seem to be listening to your viewers.

Thank you for an excellent chronicle of Pakistan’s governance history since independence which has been dominated by the military not allowing a true democratic rule to take hold in Pakistan and thereby perpetuating the conflict with India so that the military can continue to dominate and remain relevant. Unfortunately, that’s the tragic history of 75 years of Pakistan . Let’s hope democratic roots take hold in Pakistan for the stability of the region.

You missed the significance of 18th amendment. After 18th amendment the powers were devolved to the provinces, so a coup is a useless proposition now as the centre is weak compared to the provinces. Chief minister of Punjab is way more powerful now than the prime minister of pakistan with respect to the finances & discretionary authority.

@yasirpk2002
@yasirpk2002 2 жыл бұрын
@@Baasnhuish power has weakened significantly. Army however holds key decision making role in relations with US, Afghanistan & India only. China deals with civilian leadership unlike the US. Defence procurement is also handled by the army. Economy, administration, other ministry like energy, industry & agriculture are all run by civilians both politicians & bureaucracy. Gupta is a bit off point. From 1947-58 pakistan was being run by ICS officers. From 58 onwards by army. This ended in 2008. But army continues to dominate in few key areas. They do not micromanage things like they used to.
