you might want to explore that thought process. stable parents are able to offer a guiding influence and have some authority. the RF does not and the fact that the premiers can't be bothered going to meet him means that the kids are putting their finger up at the parents and as adults there is nothing the King can do but sit back and watch them self destruct.

I mean honest to God a PM that creates legislation giving animals the same rights as humans, and then when the public turn on her (or start to and she knows she's going to fall in a heap), she resigns stating 'fatigue and family responsibilities' and lo and behold a few brief months later she's employed by a Prince William who shortly afterwards is wearing a little cap around a bunch of Jewish folk (not even in a synagogue). Even as a Republic our SYSTEM would work excellently because the ONLY change would be to our Head of State, not our parliamentary system of government. We would be a fully SOVEREIGN nation in our own right instead of a "Realm" of the British Crown, Australian citizens yet subjects of Britain's King ! There's a severe lack of patriotism in our country!
@JenMaram63
@JenMaram63 3 сағат бұрын
@@tropicaussie4572 Rubbish, It would require full constitutional change. It is not just as simple as ditching the King and replacing him with a President. And who chooses the President?? A popularity test judged by the people?? Or whoever elite, woke minded person the elected government has in mind? People cannot help themselves, they want power, and they will align themselves with whatever serves their purpose. Changes of government leaders already brings uncertainty and disharmony. The King is neutral, and the leader of the Commonwealth of Nations. We already are a sovereign nation, that occurred in 1901 when British Parliament elected that Australia could govern in its own right. In what way does having the King as our Head of State bother you so much?? This country has got on just fine, it is wealthy, proud and successful. No need to change what is not broken, and once you start meddling with something that is not broken, that is when it really gets stuffed up.

Sadly for such an important issue for us Aussies, Rafe got wrong the name of the Prime Minister at the time of the referendum. John Howard (not Paul Keating) called the referendum to calm down nine years of increasingly virulent shrieking about the issue, not to promote the republican agenda, which Keating certainly would have done. The referendum, when it happened, was calm, methodical and fairly conducted. And it lost. Badly. 🙂

The monarchy represents the purveyors and originators in upstanding establishment, literature, architecture and arts , and sports, and of course sciences .( Among other freedoms and fields of the humanities scholastics ) . They are our country's friends and allies. Due Australia's geographic proximity on the planet, it can get to be a bit of a handful , being supportive of the United Kingdom , Irish , United States and the Asian pacifics and trying to keep everyone happy . Can't it country regional Australians ? 😁 So do not expect for me to be happy , twenty four seven , when I am endeavouring to do what no one on the planet can do . Keep everyone happy . If Australia wishes to withdraw from Britain then do so, no need for all this fuss and insults, just get on with it. He is a sick man who is going out of his way to visit the country, take it as it is.

@@mavisemberson8737 Australia can still be a member of the Commonwealth. Most countries in the Commonwealth are republics or have their own King or Queen.

What a lot of hypocrites the labor leaders, pm governor-general, nsw premier fawning over King Charles when they are devout republicans. chris minns wouldn't light up the opera house for the coronation, too expensive yet now it is all lit up. I am a Monacharist, pls excuse the lack of capital letters but they don't deserve that respect

Out of curiosity, why do you care one way or another? It would make absolutely no difference to the UK whether or not Australia remains a Commonwealth Realm. It wouldn't even make much of a difference in Australia. I am sure the average Brit doesn't give a toss but various commentators seem to be getting their knickers in a twist about it.

I think you're both deluded. The Chagos Islands can be given away, the UK Gov does not support Commonwealth. Can Brits afford the monarchy especially as the King supports WEF and aims to give away British Rights.

It doesn't matter what's happening in the UK. Charles is the King of Australia proper. We will decide whether we want him which God willing we do. The UK has nothing to do with that matter. Charles is the King of Australia aside from being the King of the UK.
