I did enjoy the song and I do relate to this song but instead of saying he I say she. Simply because I know someone named Shelby Fillion who is similar to Bill Sykes but the female version of Bill Sykes course. But Miss Fillion is not physical with me only The only form of abuse I get from her is solely psychological and emotional. But like I said Miss Fillion is never physical but that's solely up to her of course. But It is solely up to her whether or not she brings it to that level.

They're married actually I think. Aside from that I think it isn't as simple as her just upping sticks and leaving him. Despite they way bill treats Nancy in the story I think one if they main reasons she stays with him aside from loving him is that she's developed a form on dependency on bill to need her always unless he should get sick of her and leave. Which could stem from her having a lonely past. I'm not sure how fleshed out background wise Nancy's character in the actual novel but in the stage play and the film we as the audience don't get to hear much about her past. But from what we do know is that in the context of her relationship with bill, it isn't that she doesn't know he isn't good for her or that she doesn't want to leave him, it's that she loves him and is too dependant on him to fully let herself leave him which is quite common in abusive relationships unfortunately.
