Oh and I love the comment that Mary makes. "I don't have anything to wish for. I have everything in the world, right here in this room." I think it was so neat that they were so happy even though the were poor and didn't have a lot of money for the "extra" things in life. It just wasn't important to them. People today could learn a lot from people like them, seeing as this world is so consumed and obsessed with having more and more and how a lot of people are never satisfied with what they have.

Even Mrs. Oleson was crying at the end! That's powerful stuff!

No matter how many times I watch this episode, it touches my heart so much. Family means so much to the Ingals. Today, we have missed so much as being family. We are so busy with the world, we don't know how to be a family and share and show the true emotions we hide within ourselves. I pray someday we will come back to the simple pleasures of life.....the sharing of family.

@SomedayBroadway101 that is one of the best parts of this episode. I know for myself that all the "extra" things I have don't really mean anything. Christmas and Thanksgiving are my favorite holidays because I am with my family and the ones I love most in this world, and I think of all those whose parents ignor them or their parents are divorced and I feel so sorry for them.

yep. charles was born jan 10, 1836 and mary was born jan 10, 1865. (interestingly, michael landon who played charles was born 100 years and 9 months later: october 31, 1936. cool huh?)

The Winoka Warriors comes after this I think. Where Laura and Albert's school has a football team and they play against the private school that Nellie and Willie attend.

I've rarely heard anybody from the show say anything positive about working with Melissa Anderson. Plus if Gilbert and Arngrim say she was difficult, they would know since they were actually there.

when im looking at the titles of the epis,i kind of think,hmm..shouldn THIS epis be call like what another epis is called, altho its what they say in the epis, becomes the titles..exampel blizzard should be,as long as were togehter,or this epis should be called days of sunshine, days of sorrow,my opinion just thoughts.cool uname it in my head hihi

thats kinda strange,1 of the first things mary had to learn when she got blind was,to hear if people had a limp or so. weird she didnt hear when charles were talking,i mean he got punched, you can clearly hear his mouth is swallow(prob spell that wrong)

I'm suprised the writers didn't include Charles' birthday in this episode. The real life Mary and Charles' birthdays were on January 10 (he was born 1836 and she 1865).

@classyvietguy Yeah, "reality" = no thought, tactless, tasteless. It may be "reality" in some circles, but I prefer eternal values & morals being shown, even if we, as a people, often fall short. Why elevate crap?

@classyvietguy They sure don't. I guess TPTB in the television industry feel there's no audience for them anymore, that is why you see a lot of reality shows popping up. I know you don't care for them, but they are bringing in the mega bucks and that's the bottom line for the industry. MONEY! One more thing. I don't think there are any actors out there that can hold a candle to ML, MSA, & MG.

Had they known what little Albert would be capable of in future episodes, unintentional arson and murder, amphetamine addiction, they probably would've left him there.
